Quickie walkthrough:
ReplyDelete- Note box on the floor. It says "Treasure". Box is locked
- Note the puzzle on floor. It says "How much is the Otoshidama (money given as new year gift in Japan)"?
- Go right, pick up DIARY from shelf.
- Note the green door that can't be opened
- Go right, note the word "Lock".
- Pick up NEW YEAR CARD (it's new year card for the year 2024)
- Pick up mochi
- Go right, put mochi on shelf
- Go left again, now the sign says "Open"
- The treasure box by the door can now be opened, but before you go there, still on shelf scene, click puzzle on the bottom
- enter the date 2024/01/01 (from new year card)
- You hear a sound of something fell down
- Go right, pick up another NEW YEAR CARD (From year 2004) from the treasure box
- Go right again, pick up the PIECE OF PAPER that fell down. It says "Try harder on the puzzle"
- Go back to the date puzzle, now enter 2004/01/01
- You hear a sound.. now the green door can be opened
- Pick up the OTOSHIDAMA PACKET
- Look at item in inventory, note that there are 2951 yen inside (and wondered why it's such a weird sum!)
- Go to the door, enter 2951 and out
I think maybe you need to go through some steps first? e.g pick up the new year cards and all that..

Ah I think the code does work, it's just that it's not obvious. Once you entered the code, you can see the piece of paper.
ReplyDeleteBtw, I tried for the 3rd time.. you don't need to enter the 2024/01/01 and get the "try harder" card.. if you entered 2004/01/01 up front, it will still open the green door, and the ending is the same
