  19. I still don't get the 4 digit code :/
The only thing that came to my mind was 1510 (translated directly from romans) and 5811 (romans + number of books) :/

  20. Bottom row of the 4x4 colour grid:

    Blue-Green-Green-Red

  21. and out - the last was more easy again

  22. finally got the last one. Thanks for all the help!

  23. @Ghorre, each color of books equals a roman number as in the clue.
    That is;
    a yellow book = I
    a purple book = V
    a blue book = X

    The books you see are:
    purple = V
    purple+yellow+yellow = VII
    yellow + blue = IX
    yellow + purple = IV

So, you get: V, VII, IX, IV which equals 5,7,9,4 (your code).

    ReplyDelete
  24. Oh, I see you got that one already. Well, leaving the help for others to come.
Thanks @faltu for the 3-button code!
I wrote numbers from 1-9 inside the shelves and tried to click the buttons in that order (first column = first button etc), but your solution was way better (=correct one lol).

  25. Thanks faltu on the 3-color code - that was a nice catch !

incognito - thanks anyways for trying :)

  27. I'm still confused about the relationship between the 3x3 bookcase, the 4x4 grid I made based on the note and the safe with the rgb buttons. I saw the posted solution for the safe but have no idea how you guys got to it.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Ah! Finally got it. The 4x4 grid doesn't have anything to do with the bookcase :)

  29. I used to enjoy these...but the last few are just too cryptic....way over my head...lol
    I don't even want a WT...just not fun anymore!

  30. HOT HINT for starters:

Do as if the 3 x 3 book shelf was not there!!
Look at other places in the room!

(yes that was MY problem, I even [over]thought of mixing colors (red + blue = purple etc.))

    ReplyDelete
  31. Besides, can anyone please explain for me the RULE behind the 3 x 3 bookshelf puzzle?

I'd actually like to figure it out myself, but I need to know the rule behind it. faltu just gave the solution of what button to press, but I'd rather like to know WHY this is so. Thanks.

  33. @arbeitslooser, the clue for the three buttons is nothing but the bookcase.

When you click the buttons you see that the color goes from black to red to green to blue.

You need to click a sequence on the buttons to open the safe, and first: find out the sequence...

You start with 3 black buttons, but your first click will change one button to red.
    It could be:
    rBB (clicking first button),
    BrB (clicking second button) or
    BBr (clicking third button).
When you look at the bookshelves you see only one of those combinations: BBr, so this one is correct.
(Click third button to make it red).

    Next click could be:
    rBr (click first button) or
    Brr (click second button) or
    BBg (click third button)
In the bookshelf you see only rBr, so that is the correct thing to do.

Go on like this and make a total of 9 clicks which will eventually end with all three buttons blue.

Idk if this confuses more than it explains...

    ReplyDelete
  34. It does NOT!!

    Thank you so much!
Well so what you have to do is regard every "bookcase cell" separately, instead of - as I did it first - going per one hole row!

    So it's almost a trial-and-error, I figure :-)

  35. Another way to view the 3-buttons:
The buttons have 4 colors (Black-Red-Green-Blue)
Think of these as 0123 (black =0, red=1, green=2, blue=3). Add up the values for each book to get:
    6 5 2
    4 1 8
    7 3 9

Then, arrange the books in 1-9 order to get the sequence.

Thanks, @faitu, for seeing that this was a sequence for pushing the buttons. (I was looking for a hint for a single 3-color combination!)

  36. woohoo! It took a lot of patience on my part not to cheat and look for help on the bookcase code, but I kept at it and got all the codes by myself. Yay since I rarely need help with Dghgbakufu games.

    Pats self on back.
