ReplyDeleteOn the different floors you can discern numbers - if you try the floors with different configurations of the four switches on the control panel, you get different light patterns on the floors. That's as far as I can get!

Otherwise, this will be a great trial-and-error approach...since you can set the switches in 16 ways...
@arbeits, the clue for the switches is the walls where the numbers can be seen.
ReplyDeleteFor example, start by going to floor 3, where you can see the number 1 written on some walls. Notice the walls with the number 1 on are Left, Right and Upper ones (not the Center/Front), so go back into the elevator and turn on the L,R and U (not the C), open the doors and go out again. The light has drawn a pattern on the floor. Can you see a letter there? The yellow lights pattern is actually the outside of the letters. Well, the letter you should see is the 'M' seen from the right (or from east and facing west).
Your next stop then is floor 6, with the number 2 is on walls and repeat the procedure.
Give up! Don't understand the yellow light pattern. I cannot see "M" on floor 3.

ReplyDeleteGot the password, however it's more my English knowledge than the game's "clues" that let me escape ;)
The last letter (Lvl. IV) somehow did not appear correctly so I just had to write down the letters until the word made sense...
I presume you have to IGNORE the number on the floor you're standing on, because it's not assigned to any button.
Only relevant numbers on walls are:
- the wall you're facing
(or the one you' d bump into if you walked straight on)
- the ceiling
- left and right walls
but not
where you're standing on! There is a number where you're standing on as well, but it appears to not be assigned to any button!
(Logically one floor/wall MUST be excluded, since it's 5 areas, but only 4 buttons!)

You mean the letter in floor I which is the third number, right. Well, you are right. I didn't notice quite well before, but on a second visit I can see the letter is mirrored indeed. Probably a mistake from the author since obviously English is not its native tongue? Or his/her attempt to make it a bit harder? Hard to tell for sure.
Couldn't get the right order for the letters so I used an anagram solver - that did it.

Numbers on the floor show you which direction to read the letter. Keep in mind the number 8 looks the same upside down. ;-)
