ReplyDeleteHurray, a decent game at last!
ReplyDeleteIs anyone playing this?
ReplyDeleteI've got Schubert and Nietzsche and I can access the attic. I've also seen the numbers at the back of the book.

ReplyDeleteI've got Schubert and Nietzsche and I can access the attic. I've also seen the numbers at the back of the book.
Gah! my posts are mangled - grrr
ReplyDeleteWe can go to the attic, turn on the lights below by touching the sensor (dunno if we have to wait or not). Then go back down and touch the lamps to see which are hot. Got a lamp and Edison pic now.
ReplyDeletemarks on wall after using lamp + safe dial = petals puzzle.
ReplyDeleteGet glass container downstairs. Turn valves so the water can drop from the opening and place the container there. "Wait" until it's full and use water to grab key inside the tube.
ReplyDeletetxh Nini - never thought of touching the bulbs...
ReplyDeleteHorses behind Socrates pic is the hint for 4 buttons on the water > steam puzzle. (Look at their legs).
ReplyDeleteUse note from Watt pic to open top drawer, get apple. Use apple on machine to get a 3-dig number for the floor compartment. Get Newton pic!
ReplyDelete(I'm thinking maybe we need to place the pics according to the 1st letter of their names).
We can place the memo on the burnable trash and the apple peel on the garbage.
ReplyDeleteBehind Newton pic is the 4-letter code hint.
ReplyDeleteDraw a line on the clocks just like the hint tells you to. Then mirror. :)
Use green valve on pipe and direct the water to the opening above it. "Wait" so you can see the hint: E=mc^2.
ReplyDeleteMatch the dials and levers above the cb so they "seem' like the equation.
legs 1-4 from left to right on a horse, but also which horse is further than the other

Hm.. the trash cans and and the floor pattern suggest that the pics are related to compass. Still working on it.
ReplyDeletehow to get 3 digit code from apple machine?
ReplyDeleteGot it. Example: Beside Edison pic we should place Newton ( N E ). Which makes sense because the blue trash is North and the red one is South. Do the same for the rest.
ReplyDelete@Alpha just place the apple and click on the 2 buttons (gear and apple).
ReplyDeleteFor the last puzzle: Combine book numbers with NAPOLEON and spell "OPEN". :)
ReplyDeletedoh, had to adjust valve first...
ReplyDeleteStuck at the very beginning. Has one hint - long number from behind black book. Dont know there to use it. Please, help!

ReplyDeleteexcellent, fantastic, brill & some more synonyms game!!! LTNS but it was way worth the waiting - great puzzles that require loads of mental acrobatics LOL - thx Gatamari ☺
& thx Nini for some nudges I needed ☺
btw, you have to «wait» before you can see eye direction hint (click waiting)
ReplyDeleteyou also have to «wait» after placing hand for bulb hint

The hint for the dial doesn't work, I tried from top to bottom, from bottom to top, I tried considering the numbers as absolute or relative values, I tried with the star being number 0, with the star being number 1, I tried with AlphaOmega's hint : nothing works.
ReplyDeletepdgph, I still havent finished the game yet, but after reading hints, what i used was that when you spin the safe dial, note the place you land on..and use THAT on the pink petal buttons. ie..i think the safe dial doesnt do a thing, except give the hint for the pink petal button..(i think?)
ReplyDeleteI can't figure out how to get the 3-digit number from putting the apple in the machine. Alpha said he had to "adjust a valve" first...what does that mean?
ReplyDeleteOh, pop, the green valve from the VXMY drawer...make it point left from the water machine to the apple machine.
ReplyDelete@ clio_rose,
ReplyDeleteThank you... But the flower has 5 petals and the dial has 10 positions, hasn't it ?
pdgph: the dial has 7 positions, and on the pink flower some petals are pressed twice. If you think sort of like a clock, you press the petals this way: 2, 7, 10, 2, 4, 12, 10. Then, of course, click the bar under the flower. Hope that makes sense
ReplyDeleteHooray for mental acrobatics! Whew, that was tough and delightful. Such creative puzzles. Thanks Gatamari....Pretty sure my brain is steam now. Thanks for all the smarties who nudged me along. Amazing game!
ReplyDeleteWhew - finally out! What a great game!!! Excellent puzzles!
ReplyDelete@Alpha and @Nini - thanks for all the fantastic hints!
ReplyDeleteThank you Zoe, I'll try this...
ReplyDeleteWell, finally, I don't understand. My hint says 7, 6, 2... (there is no number higher than 8).
ReplyDeleteDefinitely scores 5 stars...
ReplyDeleteOh my... Gatamari is one of the developers whose games I just refuse to use hints and walkthrus for - they are too good tomiss any of the fun, and I know his games are always beatable by using pure logic.
ReplyDeleteThis one took me the best part of 3 days - but it was worth every minute.
Pure fun.
