Couldn't save the carrot, went outside after getting the key -- and mysteriously the house door won't work any more and I can't get in. Now the carrot is in cage inside the house and I'm outside with the key. But no problems, because I think carrot is safe in the cage, otherwise some hungry rabbit will come and devour the carrot.
