😎 I like wordplays very much (thx rasuo for finding) - let's see if my English skills are enough (as a non-native speaker)...:
ReplyDelete- ah, this tune 🥰 (helping me think 😇)
the (only...❗) one with letters given is easy
ReplyDelete(& just thinking how to give hints without spoiling...)
I did the donkey pic first (📍, easier to find out the left: material & never heard of this synonym, I always use bucket 🙃)
ReplyDeletekids playing: take item as 1st word (& synonym starts with the same letter as throw 😉)
ReplyDeleteoh, door is already open (will do the 🔔 one later as I have no idea yet... 🙃)
ReplyDelete👍 that's really fig bun❗ 😜 but I have to use https://translate.yandex.com/ (there are synonyms, too)
2nd Room
ReplyDelete(how many are there❓)
- game title
🦇 & Co: I have the 2 nouns to exchange 1st letter but not the longer ones...
ReplyDelete& have to go afk (will continue later)...
OK - left pic: animal makes a sound like another animal (the wild sort of our beloved pets)
Deletebtw: asking an AI is futile as it d/get the principle at all (at least the AI I use)... 🤪
ReplyDeleteback to girl with 🔔: it's sth you can play with (noun)
ReplyDeletefinally❗
ReplyDeleteyou really need very good English skills IMO but I found it
(AI didn't 😜 as it d/have any intuition...❗)
👉 what & where does the meteorit make the solution❓ (if right is 👑)
3rd Room (will owl on bike & Co solve later as door is already open)
ReplyDelete- easy TR pics: just what you see (all nouns)
TL, right pic: just what do you see inside the glass (also tool)
ReplyDeleteother players: how about giving some hints, too❓❗
ReplyDelete(game is very challenging for me as English isn't my native language...) - thx
Which ones are you stuck on? I'll see if I can help. But looking above, I think I have worked out the same as you.
Deleteoh hi Zoot 🙂 - well, I need (subtle) hints for several ones (only taking rooms 1 - 3 now):
Delete- room-1: all done 👍
- room-2: TR (owl & boot)
- room-3: BL (gorilla & dude) & BR (fish & man)
Well, the boot IS a boot, but a type of boot for a particular activity.
DeleteThe fish & man one is mean! Very colloquial English. But the left pic is literal - what fish and how cooked?
Delete'Gorilla' and dude is another meanie. What sort of fruit is the dude made of?
DeleteOh and he's laying the bathroom tiles with...
Deletethx Zoot - got the owl one (almost had it before your hint but only almost & that's not enough 🙃)
DeleteOK (hint from dev) - Ctrl + Shift + L opens the door to get to more puzzles (but will come back to the not yet solved ones)
ReplyDeleteOMG❗ 7 rooms with 4 puzzles each - I bet I'll be riddling the next days...❗ 🤪
ReplyDeleteroom 6 TL is easy (equal sound although written differently)
ReplyDeleteroom 5 BL: right pic is solvable IMO (just what you see) then you also get left pic 😉
ReplyDeleteI'm very stuck in room 4 but got everything in rooms 1-3 if a clue needed.
ReplyDeleteI answered you above...
DeleteGot through to room 7 and answered the 'hairy one' okay. The other three look a bit tough at first sight.
ReplyDeleteI'm often quite sure about one word of each pair but that's not helping me...
ReplyDeleteroom-3, fish: is the 1st or the 2nd word the sort of fish resp the sort of cooking❓
DeleteThis is a tough one for those who don't have English as their first language. The fish has been cooked in an oven, and the other one is a straight swap of the first letters.
Deletethx Mackem - finally got it (it wasn't grilled as I thought & had to look for fish sorts with only 3 letters...)
Deletenever heard of it: that you can shorten the physical appearance to only 3 letters...
Deletegot the gorilla (never heard of the word = filling between the tiles...)
ReplyDelete2 letters to exchange btw...❗
I used your cheat to open the doors but still a fair few I'm working out.
ReplyDeleteSome of these are quite funny,.
ReplyDeleteOK got rooms 1 - 3 cleared 👍 - hints for the remaining rooms resp puzzles would be greatly appreciated - thx
ReplyDeleteRoom 6 BR - it's the sound of the letter you swap, not the actual letter. I'm getting nowhere with clown/down. Should I be thinking of something else?
ReplyDeleteYou're on the right track Zoot. The ringmaster is timing the clown who seems anxious to be on time.
DeleteThank you! Got it!
DeleteAlso room 6, BL - in English there are two ways to spell where the bird is so try them both.
ReplyDeleteah, got it, thx Zoot: 1st word not a duck (bigger) & it's again just the spelling & not how it's written (the drinks are made from fruits)
Delete& never encountered that synonym for a storm...
DeleteRoom 4 still causing me trouble - only got TR. Room 7 - got them all except BL. @dacapo let us know specific ones you want help with.
ReplyDeleteRoom 4 has some tough ones. Top left/left - forget about the 'person' and concentrate on the mode of transport. Top left/right use the the normal noun for a woman about to be married. That should get you closer.
DeleteOK then room-4 TR (servant & devil )
DeletePOP - just got TL but thanks Mackem! For any that follow - it's NOT groom (which I was certain it was.)
Delete@dacap - it's a very specific type of servant - tricky if English not your first language but they work in hotels. The devil is dj-ing at dance/party. You need a colloquial term for that.
I am stuck on the witch and the wedding in room 4
DeleteThat's the one Mackem was hinting at and it's not the groom. Focus on the witch's transport.
Delete1st word: the witch tool for wiping, 2nd word: synonym for slide (just exchange the 1st letter)
Deleteexchange 2 first letters for right side (doom & xxxxx)
DeleteRoom 4 Bottom left is very hard. What is the sun doing and what is one way of describing the strength of the sun. The other part is very tenuous, think of an English island and then work out the link.
ReplyDeleteShould I focus on the sun's eyes or mouth?
DeleteEye
Deletenever figured that one out
Deleteroom-7 TR (box & trophy) - not box (but same 1st) & not small
ReplyDeleteEnglish is my first language and some of these have me stumped. Stuck on room 2 meteor and potatoes. Room 4 fish and lady.
ReplyDelete(my comment at 6/29/26, 3:58 AM
Deletewhat & where does the meteorit make the solution❓ (if right is 👑)
bigger than a village (2nd word) / there are a lot on the moon (1st word)/ potato synonym (1st word)
Deletenot getting it
DeleteColloquial term for potatoes?
Delete- the specific word for the hole a meteorite is causing when crashing
Delete- (right side) what is put on the head❓
Finally!!!
DeleteThey've got me too. I'm working around 'fin' and 'spin' for the last words..
DeleteHaving a hard time in the first room with the bucket and the donkey. Maybe ...pail and ...tail. Can anybody help me?
ReplyDeleteYou're right so far. What game is she playing?
Deleteright track - the girl is attaching the tail (you can use a specific tool for that 📍)
Delete& the material of the bucket (3 letters, 1st word)
Deletestuck on fish and lady - fin and spin won't leave my mind
ReplyDeleteMe too grrrr
Deleteoh right, thanks everybody.
ReplyDeleteOk - still stuck on sun/falling zombie, fish/death wheel, and hill/noah's ark. Any more pointers?
ReplyDeleteZoot, see my comment at 9.20 today
Delete
ReplyDeleteOkay, gonna stop now and watch the Brazil game.
Leave some good hints everybody :D
room-6 BR (item on a string & cats): another word for town (1st word), a little cat (1st word right side & thren again about the spelling & not the writing)
ReplyDeleteroom-4 TR (servant & devil): the item & the jump (synonym) / devil's living place & bexxx)
ReplyDeleteHalf-time and 1-0 to Japan. Not much progress here then!
ReplyDeleteGot 5 more to get. 4 BR, 6 TR and 7 TL, BL & BR.
I finally got 4BR - you were on the right track with fin and spin. What letters could you add to those two words?
Delete6 TR - left pic - you have to assume a sound it's making to accompany the 'tears'.
Delete7 T/L hahaha. Thanks Zoot
DeleteI think my clue gave too much away - will try again.
Delete7 TL - what sort of tree and what has made them laugh so much?
7 BR - the right pic is fitting as the last puzzle overall and the lady is classier than she looks.
room-5 BR (circus & finger): the funny guy with makeup & he's overxxx / not up & hint (synonym)
ReplyDeleteWhat else are you stuck on?
Deletesame as you mentionned above plus
Delete- room-4 BL (sun / cliff - saw your hints but no success yet with my attempts... there are a lot of English islands...)
- room-5: TL & TR
The island is the most prominent one off the South Coast.
DeleteI think I know the island, but can't find the whole answer. Also still stuck on the withce's broom, etc. (Really enjoying these puzzles!)
DeleteRoom 5 T/L - what the are the musical instruments doing and what kind of game are we playing?
ReplyDeleteRoom T/R - this is quite obtuse. On the left is an old fashioned type of knitting machine under a large stone.......
Deleteah, thx Mackem - synonym of violin (2nd word) then right side is clear (for me)
Deleteyep got the left side (not stoned but kinda feeling as if 🤪) / not a safe (more general) & key needed to open
Delete👍
Delete*Room 5 TR (above)
ReplyDeleteI'm back too. Left you some hints above. Still not getting the sun one - even with your hints.
Deleteroom-6 TR: it could be same as bucket in room-1 & 🐳 but what are the other words...❓
ReplyDeletesynonyms for pub❓
All 4 words rhyme. They're not dolphins in the pub.
Deleteah, it's skin colour❗ & the bucket is lamenting 🤪
Deleteroom-4 BL (sun / cliff) - not energy grin & for the island in the South I only found the Scilly islands...
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Isle of Wight?
DeleteI've got it! Finally!
DeleteThere's an old English joke. What's brown, steams and comes out of Cow(e)s?
DeleteWhat has he fallen from? The...
Delete@Macken - the Isle of Wight Ferry!
DeleteCorrect. That was funny when I was a schoolboy lol
DeleteI was spelling the island wrong!
ReplyDeletewitch: 🧹 (1st word) is correct, 2nd word is a synonym of slide (that rhymes with it)
DeleteThe Isle of Wrong. I've been there there, you may not be far off lol
DeleteOK players - what's the 🌞 doing❓ wink, twinkle, shine, grin, smile...❓
ReplyDelete& it's strenght: energy, power, force...❓
A nod's as good as a **** to a blind horse.
Deletethe first word would be used to measure its power if you add -ness to it. And it rhymes with the island...
Deletegot it - thx Mackem & Zoot (not really glowing here 🤪 & not cliff)
DeleteI'm off again. 2 to go. (ruins on the hill/animal off the boat ((port/fort?)) and the bloody fish/wheel of death!) Leave clues please!
ReplyDeleteme pretty much behind - still need the 3 in room-7 (except the box head gears) & fish skeleton / tombola wheel...
DeleteFish/Wheel of Death: you were on the right track with Fin and Spin. Think of two letters you could add to the end of those words to find the rest. I'm also stuck on the hill/boat one. It's the last one I have left.
DeleteZoot, what did Noah transport on the ark?
DeleteAnimals, two by two?
Delete7 BR is the only one I can't find.
ReplyDeleteA lady who's been knighted in the UK.
Deletethere are loads of...
Deletecompletely stuck with the clown and the spruce with a sandwich
ReplyDeleteclown is correct & if the finger pointing xxxx then the 3 letter word for the circus pic must start with D (synonym for payable)
DeleteNot a spruce, but similar and the sandwich is for a particular meal time. (Also see my reply to Mackem's 10.53 comment.)
Deletethx Mama P - got the 2 letters (abbreviation of a soft, lightweight, non-toxic metal with high corrosion resistance, commonly used in various commercial products &electrical transmission lines ir mayhaps you know XX Bundy or XX Capone❓ 😉)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Just 7BL to go now.
Delete7BL is so tough! I saw catlady's hint and have tried pair, mate, team, yoke, duos. If any of those are correct, nothing that I'm putting with them is. Anyone else gain any traction on that one?
ReplyDeleteI'm also struggling with 7BL. Last one I'm stuck on.
DeleteI GOT IT. It's one of the words you tried. Think about animals leaving the arch and look at them alphabetically. Then the left photo will also become obvious.
DeleteTHANK YOU, Drawde!!!!!! I kept thinking it had to be that one and it's rhyme for the other side, I just couldn't get that first word.
DeleteDon't go yet! Please? Still don't get it - been through the alphabet with all those words and can't link anything to the pic on the left.
Deleteditto here...
DeleteI see a ruin on a hill...
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteI see a ruin on a hill too. :(
Deletemate & fate mayhaps❓ it's getting late here & it's the last one for me, too...
DeleteYeah, I'll check back in tomorrow. I'm thinking pair/lair.
Deleteyou're right Zoot & it's not in the future but... 👍 everything cleared - now I can go to sleep in peace 😇
Deleteroom-7 TL: 1st word is the specific food time (noon) & 2nd word is (besides a conifer tree sort also an ache or crave, then you can figure out the right side (synonym for hit & string)
ReplyDeleteroom-7 BR (lady & guys) - hints plz - thx
ReplyDeleteah, a knighted lady is a xxxx holding a xxx & the play is finished
DeleteFor the guys - think about what they're doing and what you might say when you finish something. Then, look at Zoot's hint for what the lady might be called.
DeleteGot it, thanks for the hints!
Deletesleep well!
ReplyDeleteWell, I've got out, but haven't got all of them yet. However, Dan Gant - or Gan Dant, Yank Thou Cor Freating. :)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I relented and found them all. Thanks for all the help guys, it was just like the old days.
ReplyDeleteindeed - agree❗

Extremely satisfying!
ReplyDeleteThank you, dacapo, for the organized hint collection, great job! I needed that, I'm not good in English, some pictures were really easy, of course, some needed a little thinking, but some were far beyond my abilities, as I don't know the words (e.g. would never guess the 'bod').
ReplyDeleteEnjoyable game, I love word games (playing with words is even big part of my jobs) and I like to use spoonerisms, so the game was just right for me, if it only was in Estonian.
Wow, great game! Very challenging. Never would have finished without all the hints. Thanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteWow, great game, but some of those were killers!! Hope we see more like this.
