Listen to the lock on the gate. Different clicks for when you can move the lock.

I need help with the password.........HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't get through the lock on the fence, i can't hear any difference in noise whatever i do.
The pointer sometimes turns to a hand on the long bolt, but I can't move it back once it is pulled out.
Same problem. Stuck at the fence. I've pushed everything and nothing happens. Once the slide is to the left it won't come back.
I reloaded the game and the gate worked properly that time

Um... It looks like my pw for the tree is super castle. I spell it, nothing happens. Any suggestions?
Also, I don't know if it makes a difference, but some of the letters are bold and 3 of them have a dif font.
It worked this time. It had to be spelled with the letters centered on the white line.
HERE'S HOW TO UNLOCK THE GATE:
1. CLICK the T-shaped bolt on the right side of the lock. It will move slightly to the right.
2. Push all three pegs down and then DRAG the T-shaped bolt to the right. It will only move a little.
3. Push all three pegs up and CLICK on the T-shaped bolt.
4. Push all three pegs down and DRAG the T-shaped bolt a little more to the right.
5. Push all three pegs up and CLICK on the T-shaped bolt.
6. Push all three pegs down and DRAG the T-shaped bolt to the right. The gate will now open.
The trick is to CLICK with the pegs in the UP position, and DRAG with the pegs in the DOWN position. Took me a long time to figure that out.
NOTE: When pushing the pegs up or down, it MUST be done in order from left to right.
NOTE: When moving pegs, push them UP from the BOTTOM, and DOWN from the TOP.

ich have a branch, football game, charcoal and newspaper. Now stuck... Can´t get to treehouse, have no light for Doghous.. please help?
read the instructions how to open the gate, but mouse keeps getting stuck! Maybe later more luck

That's the key to getting the dog to move.
The newspaper is behind/under the dog.
I don't have the tape, though.

Use stick to kill fish by fountain. Key for car inside.
Adhesive tape inside car.
Combine tape and newspaper to make a kilt so you can dress yourself. Then talk to police officer.
He'll give you a screwdriver, which you can use on the busted electronic football game.
has anyone got the mirror to use with the newspaper?

Thanks for the help RAW but now I am stuck with the batteries and charcoal etc. Nothing seems to work anywhere. Put key in car and turned on radio and that is all I can do. Anyone else get further?

The kilt lets you get on the swing, so you can talk to your neighbor, who the police are investigating.
I don't remember where I got it, but at some point I got a light-up hat. That's where you use the batteries to get down in the tunnel.
Now I need to find a gift for the wife.

More than one path in the cave.
Walkthrough:
Talk to your wife to see what the fuss is about (sort of).
Approach the door to see that you're naked and locked out.
Go left to your garage and your locked car (personally, I'd have investigate the garage quite a bit more than he did).
To the right, you can talk to your neighbor (sort of) or flip around and see a police car.
Also, get mail from your mailbox. Note that it smells like road kill from the meat juices in the mailbox.
In your back yard, there's a statue with a koi pond.
Go forward to see a locked gate and get a broken handheld electronic football game.
Read the instructions above for opening the gate. It still seems buggy to me.
Through the gate is your back yard. There's a stick to get right away, and you can see your swing set. You can't use it yet, because you're still naked and... I won't make a joke about swinging.
Go left and see your dog.
Give him the mail to lure him out and you get a newspaper.
Note the hole in his doghouse.
Turn around to see your barbecue grill and get charcoal from it.
Go back to the koi pond by the statue (there's a small place where your cursor turns into a hand) and kill the koi with your stick.
When the koi pond is empty, you get the key to your car.
Go into your car to get adhesive tape and put the key in the ignition (for later).
Exit the car and use your adhesive tape on the newspaper to make a kilt. You'll need to stand in front of the door to put it on, because apparently, you can't get dressed without a mirror.
Now that you're dressed (?) you can talk to the policeman.
He'll give you a screwdriver and tell you that he's investigating your neighbor.
Use the screwdriver to remove the batteries from the game.
Now you can go swinging to get over the fence to your neighbor's house.
Talk to him and kill the virus on his computer.
Invade his privacy a bit by clicking on the file folders and note the books.
You now have a lighted hat. Use the batteries on it and you can enter the cave in your dog house.
Navigation in the cave is somewhat tricky.
Initially, follow the right-most path the whole way, until you get to the tree house.
Rearrange the letter tiles to make a password (mine was Fort Awesome both times). The letters should be centered vertically on the white line. It seems a bit finicky, but that's the basic idea.
Go up to the treehouse.
Look at the poster to see that music and lights bring aliens.
Move the rug to get a USB drive.
Flick the switch to see that it turns the lights of the treehouse on.
The switch doesn't stay, so you need to tape it.
Go back through the cave (the bottom of the screen) and go back to your neighbor's house.
Copy each file folder onto your USB drive and bring it to the cop for evidence.
Learn that the author of the game has a bit of a sarcastic view of the police priorities and that you can now get into your neighbor's house and do more "investigating" on your own.
Pick up the two 8-track tapes (also note that you can talk to your neighbor's ghost here - apparently, music piracy leads to immediate death penalties). For those of you born after 1980, music use to be stored on these things called "tapes". Before cassette tapes, there were 8-track tapes... They were all the rage, but I digress.
Go to your car and listen to both 8-track tapes.
Leave the alien-calling tape in the car and go back to the treehouse.
You have to turn on the lights of the flying saucer. It's not too difficult.
Talk to the alien to audition for the band and play a memory music game.
Click his head to play it. If you didn't catch it, you can click his head again.
After you beat the game, go into the probery to learn that your house key has been with you the whole time (ouch!).
Go back to your house and let yourself in.
Learn that you need an expensive gift to get back in your wife's good graces (if you've ever been married, you should have known this already).
There's a somewhat hidden fork toward the treehouse side of the cave. Go to the left side to talk to the Mole King.
Beat the pinpall game (I'd suggest focusing on the markers to the upper right) to get a garlic press.
Use the garlic press on the charcoal to create a diamond (genius!).
Go back to have it all cleared up... (?)

Kara - plug the USB drive into the PC and then drag the folders over to the USB icon that shows up on the desktop.
