This probably has nothing to do with the answer but my first line of thought had to do with ham and pork.

ReplyDeleteOk so just to clarify our thinking on 28 in case it sparks anyone we have worked out that spam spelt backwards is maps. We have also worked out that spelt backwards these two numbers correspond to a latitude and longitude somewhere in the middle of the sea...
We know that they can't be reversed ie the lat being the long because they don't fit...
We then have the comment by the author that if we understand the headline we will know what to do...
ok so the mathematical basis of latitude and longitude??? This I think is where we come unstuck...
The only other thing I wondered was whether it had any relation to the tropics and the international date line.... but unfortunately no...

If you use the coordinets in the Northern Hemisphere on google earth, you end up in an area of the Pacific Ocean near the spot Gemini VIII was picked up and also near the Mariana Trench. If this is the quadrent to look, my bet would be something to do with Gemin-eye.
