I'll try it, but I dont know
ReplyDeleteGot the first one but I am stuck on 2
ReplyDeleteI am really not good at these so without help I will probably give up.
Stuck at 2 as well.
ReplyDeleteto give a nudge for level 2. Gutenberg was known for the printing press, the level is printing themed, the numbers he shows you can be converted to letters. the source code is related to the letters you find....google will tell you the answer....hope that made sense :)
ReplyDeleteI tried John 9:19 and John 2:14 for hints but got none.
ReplyDeleteThe numbers added up are 44??? No idea
you are thinking too hard.....it's as easy as a,b,c, or 1,2,3.
ReplyDeleteIt's the ISBN Number, but still no clue.
ReplyDeletethere is only one book with that number! make sure you spell it right ;)
ReplyDeleteI looked up ISBN number 919214 and got Caraboo Camels
ReplyDeletethats not it
The ISBN number for the Gutenberg bible is b42. Nope
I am over thinking this I know
Shay, did you check the source code?
ReplyDeletemaybe that is why I am an idiot. I have no idea what a source code is.
ReplyDeleteHey jon :))
ReplyDeleteI can't find the clue on level 3..
Shay, these games take a completely different approach to gameplay. try clicking 'View' in your toolbar and look for Source or taking your pointer away from the main image on the level and right-clicking
ReplyDeleteThanks for your help Jon
ReplyDeleteI viewed source code and tried looking the ISBN for every number sequence I could find.
Maybe watching the video will help.
the info in the source will alway be in green print....usually, just above the words....'Ignore from here'
ReplyDeleteyou have what looks like a cell/mobile phone number, try that as an ISBN
@Shay, it's the green number.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the help Jon, stuck on lvl 3 though..
ReplyDeleteThere was no green number :)
Tried a few of his paintings, but have too much to choose from.
Ellie, the levels change every time, there is nothing in the source on level 3, look at Leonardo's notebook......there is something wrong, study each of the images and think...you are looking for a capital idea to mix up and progress ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm trying with lots of things, like vitruvian, naivurtiv, ornihopter, retpohinro ...
ReplyDeleteI'm probably totally wrong, guess this is not my kind of game.
Ellie...this is a big spoiler....Mona Lisa's eye gives you the letter 'e' for eye, you are looking for a seven letter word, each sketch gives you a letter to anagram!
ReplyDeletebet you learned lots about Leonardo though!! :D
ReplyDeleteLearned a lot and found the word for lvl 4, thank you!
ReplyDeleteYes, found the clue to lvl 5!!
ReplyDeleteany hints for #4 maybe?
ReplyDeleteThe source for the code to Copernicus is similar to a previous level.
ReplyDeleteEllie has found the clue....now to apply it!
ReplyDeleteI can't even pass the first level !
ReplyDeletemanaged to get to level 8...read the s***** c***, but still have no idea which c***** to use...
ReplyDeleteI am stuck on lvl 5, trying to breat galileio, his telescope and the pendulum..
ReplyDelete@Pascale:
try google 9999+1 and archimedes
Ellie, make the image big, follow where the telescope is pointing!
ReplyDeleteGeorge, V******* will give the answer
stupid me...I tried that before...with the wrong name LOL..
ReplyDeleteThanx jon!
and now I have a "No!" on the answer page hehe...
ReplyDeleteI think it points at the moon, but that's not correct. I also tried some names of jupiters moons, but that didn't help.
ReplyDeletedon't look so far...it's a part of the building..
ReplyDeleteno for level 8 George?
ReplyDeleteno, NO! for level 9
ReplyDeleteFinally got it!
ReplyDeleteTried all kind of english words for pillar, column etc, until I saw the clue. Didn't make it big enough. Thank you George and jon!
aha...ok George, good Ellie...keep going :)
ReplyDeleteHmm, I must be pretty close on Newton, but haven't found correct word. Tried W**********M****, and only w**********, but nothing yet.
ReplyDeleteEllie, your first answer is right, just no capitals and no space
ReplyDeleteThank you! I thought I tried all combinations already, but missed that one :)
ReplyDeleteEllie, you are right! Check spelling
ReplyDeleteooops, must remember to refresh!!
ReplyDeleteWhat am I supposed to do in the first level?! Stupid, I know... :(
ReplyDeleteurrgh...still stuck with my t** g**** b****** in level 9
ReplyDeleteYes, did Watt on my own! Use the picture as source.
ReplyDeleteGeorge, this was such a tough level because there is no hint at the main clue, look at source again *******1.jpg...then look to the right!
ReplyDelete@ Maja
ReplyDeleteYou are supposed to find a word to write at the end of the web page adress.
It looks like this from the beginning:
http://www.riddlex.com/masterminds/archimedes/start.htm
change "start" to your new word, for example:
http://www.riddlex.com/masterminds/archimedes/level2.htm
Then you will proceed.
I did jon, I just don't know what it means...I found a new p****** with the b******, tried that as url and got the No!
ReplyDeleteTnx, Ellie!!!
ReplyDeleteit was a language barrier...
ReplyDeleteeemmmm, wiki.....f**t****l....look up the number of **tt*** is this what you did? entered the number only as an answer?
ReplyDeleteEllie, can you give me a hint about level 7 please?
ReplyDeleteI've looked at the code and pic name. Tried the other parts of it. Tried another inventor. Just got the great big no.
Please help.
Great stuff George :) Eeeek, other diagrams are available of this machine....with notes added!
ReplyDelete@Eeeek
ReplyDeleteIf you saw the code you have the correct parts. It's an anagram
Trying to find a good name for 8. Need 13 letters, right?
ReplyDeleteYes Ellie, PH will provide the tool to pass this level
ReplyDeleteThe PH I found only have 12 letters. Guess I'll keep looking.
ReplyDeleteFor level 7 I have tried anagramming all the parts labelled and named on a certain helpful website. Nope. Nothing there. I've also tried to anagram the first letters of words/parts and that doesn't work either.
ReplyDeleteTis driving me mad.
Ellie, you took the info from s***c* and used it in a p**p** h**l cip***? how did you end up with 12 letters?
ReplyDeleteEeeek
ReplyDeleteRemember that 2 steam cylinders can be helpful
Eeeek, you have 5 letters, correct? Are you using an anagram tool?
ReplyDeleteI've tried everything with 5 letters. My mind. It is lost :(
ReplyDeletebedtime here....you may find these helpful:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.purplehell.com/riddletools/
http://anagram-solver.utsire.com/
good luck and have fun!
Maybe I don't understand the V*****C***??
ReplyDeleteI used the s***c*** and got 13 letters, I thought I needed a name as a key to be able to use the cip***??
@ Eeeek
ReplyDeleteother word for shell
Finally!! I thought somehow that the key needed to be 13 letters as well. 7 was enough.
ReplyDeletecan someone just tell me the answer to level 8
ReplyDeleteno one else will look i promise
ReplyDeleteis anyone still here?
ReplyDeleteI'm still here.
ReplyDeleteBut no direct answers :)
You find some clues like you've done before.
Did you use http://www.purplehell.com/riddletools/
?
is anyone still here? help on level 5? i'm just not getting it... is it a building part?
ReplyDeleteEllie, i didn't even know that existed
ReplyDeletedrk, the answer is actually written on the column the telescope is pointing at. unfortunately, it's in morse code.
ReplyDeleteomg thank you so much, i kept thinking it was a word that was getting too grainy the more i zoomed! duhhh....
ReplyDeletei have to get to bed. Ellie, thanks. night all. i'll try again tomorrow
ReplyDeleteToo tired to continue now, but this is the longest I evers stayed on this kind of game, and I'll be back tomorrow :)
ReplyDeleteStill trying to get lvl 9.
Jon, in a clue you said:
wiki.....f**t****l....look up the number of **tt***
and I have no idea what **tt*** is. Just end up with another number linked to Faraday that I can not use.
hey i tried the puzzle and I am still stuck on level 2
ReplyDeleteI googled the ISBN number and got no where at all. What on earth am I supposed to do?
Zack,
ReplyDeleteYou need to find a source for another number ;)
Zack, google the ISBN number and the word Gutenberg and you come up with a strange latin word. that's the answer.
ReplyDeleteLevel 9. In the source code there is a clue to the second image, and to the right of it there is a clue to a mathematical function. Apply the number in the second image to the math and you will find a big number :)
ReplyDeleteHi, just started and cant seem to get lvl 3. Reading earlier comments I understand the principle of it being an anagram but just cant get the word. Can anyone help?
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellie and Jon. I was very tired last night and couldn't think straight. Came to it today and got it straight away. Thank you for your help and patience :)
ReplyDelete:) welcome, sometimes a break is all you need from riddles to get to the next level
ReplyDeleteHi, I'm back for more. Will start solving that 9th level now.
ReplyDeleteNo, even with all the hints I can not solve 9.
ReplyDeleteI tried to use wiki.. for f**t****l, tried to put 20 and got a big number, that didn't work.
I tried to find other mathematical functions related to Faraday, but can't figure out which one to use, and which number to put in.
Please, clue for dummies?
Ellie, did you find a second image?
ReplyDeleteHmm I had a closer look on the ones on the page, the bank note and Faraday cage.
ReplyDeleteDon't know how to find another one.
Ok, found the one in s*****c*** as well. Haven't found a function yet, though.
ReplyDeleteEllie....you found an image in source, faraday1 have you looked for a second faraday image?
ReplyDeleteNo, I think I'm lost.
ReplyDeleteFound out that when I google faraday1.jpg, I get a picture that is actually called michael faraday1.jpg
I also tried google factorial in many ways, but that didn't help me.
I tried to look at source code for michael faraday1.jpg, no help there either.
googled faraday2.jpg as well, no function or clue that I understand there :(
ReplyDeleteI can not find that second image.
ReplyDeleteEllie, if a second picture existed the url would say faraday2 rather than faraday1 wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteEllie, as well as changing words in the url path, you can change the suffix....try from:
ReplyDeletecipherbreaker.htm to faraday2.jpg
sooo.... level 11. not good. cannot find any clues in the text, code or anywhere else. :(
ReplyDeleteEeeek, there are no clues except the text. study every line carefully for the question....
ReplyDeletestuck on 5. can't read clue. would like help
ReplyDeleteThank you Jon!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, new at this kind of game, didn't know about possibility to change suffix.
Was also trying too hard to find something more difficult.
Now I can go to work and continue this evening :)
@ Ringo Z13
ReplyDeleteTry to copy the picture and make it bigger in another program, like paint.
I must be looking at the clue wrong. I've been staring at it for over half an hour, and still nothing. I've tried braille, morse code, anagrams, everything. I will try again later, but another hint would help.
ReplyDeleteI'm stuck on 11...how do I find the n***** the clue is asking for? I've googled like mad!
ReplyDeleteha! nvm...found it :)
ReplyDeleteFigured it out - I was looking at it upside-down...
ReplyDeleteI solved 9, was close to giving up. Just out of curiosity.. how to find the clue that there is a second image from first picture? I saw nothing in it, couldn't use source code or see anything on sidewiki.
ReplyDeleteGreat Ringo!
And thank you Eeeek, you also helped me with 9.
lvl 10. I don't get the source code, maybe because I'm not english I have trouble with
ReplyDeleteE_ _ _ _ T_ _, and not understanding the clu... have no idea what to look for.
Sorry, for all the questions about help. Find the game fun anyway :)
Fine, understand T_ _. Tried as URL, got No.
ReplyDeleteYes, got to 11! Needed to look wider.
ReplyDeleteStuck again :) This time on 12, Edison. The clue leads to another inventor, can't find a good url.
ReplyDeleteEllie, for 12, did you find a second p**?
ReplyDeleteThank you aicheless1.
ReplyDeleteYes I did, but don't know how to use it. No bottles :)
Ellie, apply the s***c* clue to the p**.
ReplyDeleteOf course! Thanx Aich, got to 13.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm now stuck on Level 12!
ReplyDeleteThe clue led to another inventor - that didn't work
Found the 2nd p** - can't see anything there to help me.
Have tried the p**k name, writer of the b**k pointed to in the s****e and I'm running out of ideas.
lol, you are running out of things to look at Eeeek....the s***c* says....O** O* T***.....perhaps look for something that might be 'in T***'..........a P** in a P**??
ReplyDeleteThought that I found a perfect .htm for thirteen, but it wasn't gone.
ReplyDeleteFound lots of dots but cant make something good out of it.
@Eeeek
ReplyDeleteThere is something in that picture that perhaps shouldn't be there, because it didn't exist when the inventor did.
I need to leave for a while, but will come back later. Good luck Eeeek!
ReplyDeleteEllie, it's a tough anagram, pencil and paper time!! 7 and 4 ******* H***
ReplyDeleteAaaaah I found it when I came back to it. Funny how a break can be good.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ellie and Jon again.
Now for level 13... I think I'm going dotty!
I found all 11, but so far no help from anagram solver programs. Would help with some extra hints, since english is not my language :)
ReplyDeleteFinally got to lvl 14!
ReplyDeleteThat anagram took a while.
I was searching for something and there was nothing here to find.
Stuck on 19. I don't know what to do with the countries. Tried google a lot, but still no clue. Have to sleep, but will be back.
ReplyDeleteEllie,
ReplyDeleteFor 19:
Find the country, and find the code. To come out on top you have to keep a level head. Then you will find yourself in the riddlers' domain. ;)
[Reposted because I don't think the first one went through.]
ReplyDeleteOkay, I have tried and tried, and I cannot for the life of me get the third level. I know HOW I'm supposed to do it- look up the names of the images then figure out the anagram- but I just can't seem to find the right names or something, because I cannot find a single viable solution. Help?
@dagger
ReplyDeleteIf I remember correct it was:
1. a body part
2. another body part
3. something to prevent a quick fall in air.
4. a war machine
5. a weapon
6. a flying machine
7. a mathematic chape
Try google leonardo inventions and look at pictures. After solving the anagram you get a word that has to do with books.
@ Ellie: Thank you! I couldn't for the life of me make out number two- I thought it was some type of bizarre invention.
ReplyDeleteThanx Aich. Still not get 19 :(
ReplyDeleteI have tried different codes, TLD, calling code etc.
Am I supposed to do another anagram, or am I looking for the wrong connection to the countries?
Ellie,
ReplyDeleteYou name the code in your post. If you look carefully at my last hint, you can tell which one. :)
Yes, it is an anagram. But, the Universal won't find it for you. the anagram solver at www.oneacross.com night help, but it will return a TON of results to dig through. It actually is probably easier to solve with pencil and paper. Unless English is not your first language.
2 w**ds
Thanks a lot Aich!
ReplyDeletewww.oneacross.com did help.
Now off to solve 20.
Am I blind? Can't find any q******* or any other clue in the text for lvl 11...
ReplyDelete@Nikos
ReplyDeleteYou just have to read the text in a different way.
t** p***** n*****?
Thanx Ellie and jonthewatch!
ReplyDeleteAllready at lvl 17. Stuck there because http://www.purplehell.com/riddletools/ doesn't work...
Trying manually.
Is it only a c****r with a k*****d and a starting k*******r, or should I an****m the result?
Don't bother! I'm in the biology department!
