POP, got it. Look at assembling it from the bottom of the cone first.

Notice that when he is upside down, it rains very hard. Leave him upside down for now
Turn right
Get the trashcan from the bottom of the bookshelf
In the about item view of the trashcan, click the top to see chemical residue in the bottom of the trashcan (if you closed the view, just double click the trashcan for the view)
Close the view
Get the black planner from the bookcase by the blue books
In the about item view, click the bookmark hanging from the bottom of the book -- note the week/month. Click the gray at the edge of the right page to flip to the back of the book.
Get the keycard. (Thanks, Sassenach!)
Note the family photo
Turn right
If you left the ghost upside down, the ceiling in this view should be leaking
Place the trashcan where the drops fall
The water will activate the chemicals to make light hit the ceiling (just wait for it)
Look at the ceiling where the light hits and see a color code
Gray, blue, green? Hmm…
Look down
Turn right
Open the left closet door
See the toolbox on the top shelf needs a 3 digit code
The bottom safe is where the keycard goes, but it also needs a key
Turn 2 times to the bookcase
Combine the ceiling hint and the books for a 3 digit code
Turn 2 times
Enter the code into the toolbox, click the top of the lock, and get the cone, ball, and 3-hole holder
Click the ball in the about item view to get the first battery from inside

Open the right closet door
Move the top blanket and click above the shelf and then the ceiling to find an attic entrance (thanks MegiPoland!!), but it is too dark to see up there
Move the bottom pillows one at a time and click the floor of the closet to find a basement entrance. But again, it is too dark to see
Turn left
Get the still glowing trashcan
Turn right
Go into the attic
Place the trashcan in the middle and find a battery capacitor
Take back the trashcan
Go down into the basement
Place the trashcan near the bottom left corner of the room and see a switch puzzle, but what are the heights?
Go back upstairs
Turn 2 times to the bookcase
Zoom in on the family photo (thanks, Seawall!)
Note their heights
Go back to the basement
Enter the code
Click the handle and get the key and second battery

Look at the ball in the about item view -- open it and add the bunny ear part
Look at the cone in the about item view. Click the bottom to look inside it. Add the battery capacitor
Look at the white thing with 3 holes in the top
Add the batteries
Look at the cone again and add the white thing with batteries to the capacitor
Click the top of the cone so you can see the 2 slots and add the ball
Turn right to the window
Add the new black ghost-like thing you built to the curtain rod -- left of the one that is there
It will make the rain stop
Take it back
Turn to the door and leave
Once outside, I clicked the pole on the right mountain and the sun, but I don’t know if that was necessary
Use the black thing on the mountain to make it rain (thanks, Chris! I didn’t know the game kept on after we got outside!)
Get the cellphone
A helicopter will appear
Back up
Get the paper from the ground in front of the new building
Use the paper on the sun to get a new code
Enter the code on the telephone to get a target scope
You need another code for the phone
Enter the same code as the safe to make the phone work and the helicopter search
Yay! You found dad!!!!!!!!
