There are two color codes and for one of them you have to use the colors of the reeds. The other is the colors of the locks.

ReplyDelete@Cody, combine them with the flippers and dive in the water right of the boat as you look at it from the bow. The blue key will flip up onto the dock.

FIRST SCENE

- GUN, zoom in on the grey screen on the left.
- FLIPPERS, zoom in on the brown bench on the left.
- SHOVEL, zoom in on the little tree in the back.
- GOGGLES, zoom in on the top of the second from the left tree.
- BULLET, zoom in on the bridge over the pool.
- CUTTERS, zoom in on the front of the boat.
HINTS
- 5 NM (5 nautical miles), zoom in on the brown bench on the left. (5x 1852 = 9260)

ReplyDeleteHi BHP, thanks for backing me up on this one (see my post of 9.37 am). There's one in the Times every day, I'm pretty useless at them :o`
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a Kenken (Japanese for Wisdom squared), not a Sudoku puzzle and they are quite easy once you know how to solve them. Believe me, I am a maths dunce but even I can do these ones. To start, you count the squares either across or down to see what numbers you are working with. In these particular Rotuc puzzles, they use a 4 x 4 grid so you know the numbers are from 1 to 4. Every row down or across must contain the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4. So start with the single squares. Fill in all the single black-sided squares with the number in that box. If for example you have a single square with a 1 in it, then you know that the other three numbers in the black-outlined squares with it are 2,3,4. Then you just do the easy maths for the other black-outlined square groups(eg. 3- with two empty squares means there are two numbers that subtract to give 3 which could only be 1 and 4 in this instance; or if you have three squares with 8+, it means there are 3 numbers that add up to 8; or 12x means the numbers together multiply to make 12; or 2÷ means the numbers in the black box divide into 2, etc.) The same number cannot be in the same column either down or across. From then on, it's a simple process of elimination. I'm glad these Rotuc puzzles only use 4 numbers - there are Kenken numbers that can have a lot more than 4 and are much harder.
