    ReplyDelete
  65. Zazie - you need to go to green room before you can place gems in Gold room

    ReplyDelete
  66. Wow, out too.
Thanks for all the great help.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Good find Graham !!
Give water to the veins for another gem.

And thx Selfdefiant for such a brilliant game. One of your best IMHO !

Now i have to run, cu soon.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Btw. this was the best Selfdefiant ever, wasn't it?
The trick with double clues (books as hint for water and the book itself for the key).
And the real use for the orbs.

    Thanks Selfdefiant,
And congrats, you made an epic game.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I have 6 gems. Am I missing one? Green, red, blue, purple, yellow, white.

    ReplyDelete
  73. OMG this is such an AWESOME game, but my tired brain is going to be busy with it for a WEEK! Can anyone help me get off Level A? LOL! Yeah, still stuck on Level A!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Seadawg,
    You're missing orange.

    ReplyDelete
  75. S-T, Do you remember where it was?

    ReplyDelete
  76. In D-18 you will get the orange gem.
    Use the 3 x 3 arrows clue.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Rachel,
From room A33, you can go up to C-level.

    ReplyDelete
  78. And to go to the B-level you go up in room A-20, but for that you need to buy a lamp.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Please forgive if this has been asked and answered ...but does anyone have the locations of all the fireplaces...I forgot to note them....thanks!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  80. @Nokra fireplaces are in D12, C10, and A3

    ReplyDelete
  81. I'm just beginning the game. The knights give a hint for the compass puzzle, but the answer should be W S S E. I saw the answer in a previous comment, but where does this order come from ?

    ReplyDelete
  82. Thank You, JoAnn!!!!
and I am so happy I bought the "long pliers"! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  83. The fireplaces are in;
    A-3
    C-10
    D-12

    ReplyDelete
  84. @Selfdefiant, my game didn't autosave, is that a bug or was it just me?

I only got to watch everyone escape while I stood on the side lines *sniff sniff*

    ReplyDelete
  85. Great game; thanks Selfdefiant, and thanks to everyone for their comments. This was a marathon!

  88. Pascale,
The left knight says West and South.
The right knight says South and East.

    ReplyDelete
  89. @Small-Tool thank you ! You are always here to help !
The left knight says that he patrols West, then South, the right knight says that he patrols South then East... Is it different in each game ? However, West South South East doesn't work. It's the beginning of the game, and I'm already lost...

    ReplyDelete
  90. darn...PC crashed, no time to replay right now....good luck to get to the finish guys

    ReplyDelete
  91. So sorry to hear that Jo-Ann, you was such a great help here.
But you can consider yourself finished.
It was only a few steps you had to make from there.

    ReplyDelete
  92. And the same goes for Jon (sorry to hear that).

    Pascale,
It's the same in every game and it should work.
Make sure they are right, the letters are very tiny so look closely.

    ReplyDelete
  93. How the heck do I get back A1 from the "D" floor?

    ReplyDelete
  94. Sassenach,
    Go down from room D-9.
And then down from room C-4.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Read through - can't get to section B - can anyone help? Can't believe some of you have finished - WELL DONE!

    ReplyDelete
  96. Thanks so much small-tool!

    ReplyDelete
  97. Susan,
    Go up from room A-20.
But to be able to do that you first have to buy a lamp in room A-1.
To buy the lamp you need to find 25 purple orbs.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Thanks Small Tool - already got my lamp justt couldn't find where to go - been wandering around aimlessly for ages!

    ReplyDelete
  99. Selfdefiant, thank you very much for the great game! And all players for help. I really enjoyed it.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Have read the clues and still can't figure out the 8 digit code...someone please help. Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  101. Still looking for that fifth card. Have A Q K & 2...what am I missing?

    ReplyDelete
  102. dcva1948,
At the last page of the book is what letter is what number, use that in combination with the word (after you anagrammed it) on the preface page.

    ReplyDelete
  103. paul,
    You're missing the joker.
It's in D-11. (behind the clue on the wall).

    ReplyDelete
  104. Trolling D floor, and finding this more and more difficult! I pity...er...take my hat off to the person attempting THIS walkthrough!! But we definitely NEED one! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  105. 3hours later... I am out! anyone need help? please just ask and I will do my best to help.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Thanks S-T. Finally out. Another two hours of my life gone.

    ReplyDelete
  107. thank small-tool...now it made sense and I got in...thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Argh! I'm only missing the orange gem! I know it's gotten by solving the puzzle in D18 but I don't remember seeing a clue on how to solve it! Please help!

Also, in D12 there is a bowl on the floor that is "hot." (The pointer changes to a hand when you scroll over it.) I tried to pour water in, but that didn't work. Did anyone use that bowl for anything?

    ReplyDelete
  109. John,
There were 3 rooms with 3 arrows and a number on the wall (don't remember where anymore).
    Anyway it was
    1) Y down - R down - G up
    2) Y up - R up - B down
    3) G up - Y down - R down

    (Y = yellow etc.)

    ReplyDelete
  110. @ John.. if D18 is the arrow puzzle it is solved like by seeing the arrow clues throughout the game.
    Spoiler Below

    Down(Yellow), Down(Red), Up(Green)
    Up(yellow), Up(Red), Down(Blue)
    Up(Green), Down(yellow), Down(Red)

    ReplyDelete
  111. finally out! Thanks for the help. This was a great game...I kept having to go back to work though so it took me ever so long to finish.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Ahh...Thanks! I thought I used those clues to help solve where to place the cards on the poker table. Hmmm...Double clue or did I get lucky? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  113. oh my...whoo hoo a mega SD game...bring it on ...yay !!

    ReplyDelete
  114. I just guessed on the poker table. I never saw the clue...

@small-tool.. where was the clue to place the cards on the poker table?

    ReplyDelete
  115. EnJoy and John,

The clue for the cards was the amount of coins (the less coins, the lower the card).
Joker has no points so it goes in the middle.

    ReplyDelete
  116. Thanks small-tool... that would have probably saved me 30 minutes or so :)

    ReplyDelete
  117. I give up - feel like my head is going to explode - 20.45 here so going to watch some mindless TV Thanks for al your hlp - I will try agin tomorrow maybe!

    ReplyDelete
  118. I wonder if the colored arrows also had something to do with the poker cards? I don't remember the clues, but let's say a clue was: 1 yellow down, red down, blue up. Queen was the lowest card, so I used the clue for 1 and placed it where the yellow and red chips were below (or beside) it and the blue chips above it. I just started with the joker in the middle and guessed for the fourth card. (I assumed I had overlooked the 4th clue.) It's hard to explain, but I believe it worked. LOL

    ReplyDelete
  119. Keep coming back to this one, guess I have to quit now :( Cannot get anywhere, ugh!

    ReplyDelete
  120. Sorry, but how do u tell which direction the compasses are pointing??? thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  121. cyndee43,
There are very tiny letters on the outer circle.

    ReplyDelete
  122. has any one done the spider puzzle yet?

    ReplyDelete
  123. A,
All the people that are out did.
    It's like Jon posted.

The clue is B-5 (click the spiders there)
    And in B-10;
Count clockwise 5 from the top (excluding 12 o'clock position), then 8 then 6 then 5 then 7

    ReplyDelete
  124. cant make the spider clue work. Any suggestions? Don't understand how it relates to the chart.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Evans,
The spider web has 12 segments, but in a segment the spider can sit in the middle or left or right.
    That makes 36 segments.
And in the puzzle are 36 buttons to click, all you have to do is find the right buttons, but Jon already did that for us.

    ReplyDelete
  126. Where are the matches?

    ReplyDelete
  127. Matches are in Room D-1.
You have to drag the plates away (from top of the ovens).

    ReplyDelete
  128. @Small-Tool, yes, I'm sure of the letters on the compasses... W S S E is what the knights say, but it doesn't work.
The left knight says exactly :
"I patrol the West wing while my brothers patrols, then I patrol the South" and the right knights says :
"I patrol the South wing then head to the East wing".

    ReplyDelete
  129. Pascal,he patrols the West, then his brother patrols, THEN he patrols again to the South

    ReplyDelete
  130. Thank you, s-t. I swear, I think that I went through every room at least twice. Being sick makes playing a SD game that much harder:(

    ReplyDelete
  131. I think I'm the only one still missing a card...I have,Ace,2,Queen & Joker....and still cannot figure out a clue to moon, star, yellow, red circle box.

    ReplyDelete
  132. Kimbo,
The clue for that moon star etc. box (and I think the King card is in there) is in room C1.
To get in room C1 you need the blue key.
The blue key you get by clicking the books in room C16 (from lowest letter/number to highest).

    ReplyDelete
  133. S-T, thank you, thank you,had no idea that was a double clue! Maybe I'll get somewhere now.

    ReplyDelete
  134. @Kimbo, thank you, but that doesn't make any difference, it's still W S S E.
    I'm sorry, but I don't understand, I'm giving up.

    ReplyDelete
  135. No Pascale,
    That makes WSES.
Sorry if my previous comments about this were not clear.

    ReplyDelete
  136. Okay ...I don't know if we are still live...I saw a clue from jonthewatch....but it did not work...how to do this please?....

blue key from c16....note the values of the books and click value from lowest to highest...then go to c1 to use key

I can't make this work...can somebody explain better? I am stuck here!

    ReplyDelete
  137. @ Nokra. where are you stuck? I will try to help

    ReplyDelete
  138. I am missing blue green purple and gold keys...the one I just mentioned seems to be next step....

    ReplyDelete
  139. Thank you Small-Tool and Kimbo... I must be very stupid, but I still don't understand why East comes befores South... nevermind.

    ReplyDelete
  140. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  141. The blue key is in the room with the books. On the C floor. Don't have the room number written down. what you do is click the books in order from the lowest value to the highest. i.e. 20,30,40.. then the blue key should appear

    ReplyDelete
  142. I did that ...but will try again...TY @small-tool ..another form of POP , I hope!

    ReplyDelete
  143. Pascale you have to read it like this;
    Left knight says;
I patrol the WEST while my brother patrols.
    THEN I patrol the SOUTH.

    Right knight says;
I patrol the SOUTH. THEN head to EAST.

    So left patrols WEST
While the brother patroles SOUTH and EAST
And after that left patrols SOUTH

    Nokra,
    The books are
    A20
    B50
    C30
    D60
    E20
    F70
    G40.

So there are 2 with 20 but A comes before E.
    So
    Click;
    A20
    E20
    C30
    G40
    B50
    D60
    F70
And you'll get the blue key.

    ReplyDelete
  144. It worked!...maybe the first 5 times I did it I didn't click on the #'ed part of book...anyway...TY TY TY...onward I go!LOl

    ReplyDelete
  145. I have 5 gems,(pur, yell,gn,blu, orng), can do nothing in gold room, still haven't been to floor B...hmmm Can't think of any unsolved puzzels.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Kimbo,
You really have to go to the B floor.
To go there, go up from room A-20.
But you have to buy the lamp first to be able to do that.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Oh, forgot about that area...however I haven't enough orbs for the lantern...oh no, I've been collecting all I see....gues I'll go hunting..Thanks again s-t

    ReplyDelete
  148. I'm just too tired to start this one now... but I am soooo happy a new selfdefiant was waiting for me after the big spring house-cleaning. thnx SD :)

    ReplyDelete
  149. Can someone lend me 34 orbs, ha!

    ReplyDelete
  150. I have 7 gems...how many do I need?..how to get gold key?

I am too tired to read comments any more...Are you still there @s-t?

    ReplyDelete
  151. I have them, Kimbo...wish I could give them to you...lol

    ReplyDelete
  152. Gold key you get from using the 4-digit code in room D-21.

    ReplyDelete
  153. nokra, thanks anyway, :)
Gold key comes from D21, I never saw a clue, so I cheated from above I gues its:

    6593

    ReplyDelete
  154. I have gold key now

    Where is the room ...PLease??????

    ReplyDelete
  155. Use gold key to get in room D-26.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I am so tired....lolol
Thanks so much for the help...I can't read through the comments anymore...I know someone knows which room it is!!LOLO

TY TY TY TY TY TY almost out?..I hope!

    ReplyDelete
  157. Hi all! i'm totally stuck! Instead of buying lantern I bought the crystal ball and now I can't move on in the game! Guess I'll have to restart :(

    ReplyDelete
  158. @small-tool. I just played again and still couldn't figure out some puzzles. Had to read the comments. For example on the valves were the opposite of the clue and it looked like when you use the wand on the stain glass window that was also backward. To get the blue key, was there a clue to click on the books?? I never saw any hints for the above. did I miss something both times?

    ReplyDelete
  159. LOL nvm! Had some unvisited rooms in floor C :)

    ReplyDelete
  160. that did it!
    you are great, @small-tool
and the best game ever, @selfdefiant!

    ReplyDelete
  161. EnJoy,
The stained glass windows was from the book.
Not backwards. The blue makes an up arrow and goes over top middle and bottom right and left. So those have to be up and the others down.

The valves clue was in red and the water (or the level was blue) so I guess that was the hint to use it backwards (but not sure about that, maybe there was another clue).

For the books no hint, but that's more often in Selfdefiant games. If there's no hint you click alphabetical or from small to big or from low to high or the other way around.

    ReplyDelete
  162. Kimbo,
The clue for the numbers you use in room D-21 comes from room D-11. There's a note on the wall with 4 grids.
Those grids are also in the book. The top grid on the note is on page 6 (so the first number is 6), the second one is on page 5 etc. etc.

    ReplyDelete
  163. I just came back and finished, thanks to Jon (or was it Graham) for the blue key! Awesome game - Self Defiant, I don't know how you're going to beat that one! You've just raised the bar, and as you know, we escapers can get get pretty demanding!!

    ReplyDelete
  164. oh, thanks for that s-t, I wasn't sure where the grid clue came in. Still need orbs, lol. Think i'll give up now

    ReplyDelete
  165. Please can sone-one tell me the best site to get the games live. Facebook only posted this 5 mins ago. thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  166. OMG, I really wanted to try this one without help...having practised heaps....lmao, this was soooo hard, could never have done it on my own.

@ timmac.....you really need to have the escape games page open and hit refresh lots. also it depends where in the world you are. Usually (I am in Australia) the games are already here, sometime I am lucky and find a live game.

  169. great game!! I had to come and look a few times for hints. I did however guess at the planet color and it just opened not sure how that happened. ;D I did have to put it down and get some other things done but as usual S-D out did him/her self again!! Wonderful and well worth the wait!

  170. I am at least 12 hours behind everyone, struggling not to look at hints, and LOVING IT!!! Thank you, s-d! I am in the process of boxing up my house and fixing it up to sell, and this lovely long game will give me nice work breaks. I hope to make it last all week!
Back to lurking around in the shadows....

  176. Hi,
Normally I have no trouble getting into S-D games but on this one all I get is a black screen where the game should be. Anyone else have a problem or do you know if I need to update something?
Hoping for help as desperate to play.......

  177. Hi Jacqui - my game took forever to load, but that could be because this game is just so much bigger than SD's norm. I would suggest you clear your cache and try again.

  178. Thanks Rachel, Cahe cleared & we seem to be making progress now. Slow progress but I am betting the wait is worth it!

  179. Thank you again, Small-Tool, now I understand... but it was really a weird hint, not very logical IMHO.
