That part is right; A is twice as much as B
But
4+1=5
5-1=4
And then A and B do not have the equal amount.
It only works this way;
5-1=4
7+1=8
and
5+1=6
7-1=6
By the way, here's the math how to do it;

1) A+1=2B-2
2) A-1=B+1
Then the math:
A-1=B+1 => A=B+2
Put that in equation 1) and you get;
B+2+1=2B-2 => 3=B-2 => 5=B
And when B=5 it's easy to do the math to get A=7

ReplyDelete@Charlotte, if you mean the last code you're right. The location code for the cell phone is 1613, but before that you need to enter the long number on the paper: 9826205 as PIN code.
ReplyDeleteIf you're you talking about the first code in the bag, you need to take the date minus AxB. A=7 and B=5, so AxB=35. The date is 1221, so the code is:
1221-35=1186
