  3. found a key under the table; a note with some gunky stuff on it (it's in japanese, anyway, lol); a can of something from first scene; a plate with some sort of clues on the back; there's something under the cupboard by the door that I can't get...

  4. @Leroy, you are Kichi-gai, Hah!

    ReplyDelete
  5. (BTW, Kichi-gai means "maniac" in my very limited japanese vocabulary)

    ReplyDelete
  6. another can of something in the cupboard with the ridiculously easy safe code

    ReplyDelete
  7. aha! a note in the trash bin beside the refrigerator. Unfortunately, it's in japanese and doesn't mention Maniacs or Rubber Band Battles (pretty much the limit of my japanese)

    ReplyDelete
  8. you can zoom on the bottom right side of the refrigerator, but I don't know why.
@linda_r_1957 and @Leroy, are you still here???

    ReplyDelete
  9. I can't figure out the 6 digit code in the refrigerator........btw, glad you're here zoz....... i've been reading your posts for about a year now, but this is only my second time to post :D

    ReplyDelete
  10. if you grab the plate off the table and view it, you can turn it over, but i don't understand the clue

    ReplyDelete
  11. after finding key, brute-forced my way into the kitchen cabinet (blue-green-red??? Not too sure about the first color) and got a grabber which got yet another can from under the tall cupboard.

    ReplyDelete
  12. that's where i'm stuck too

    ReplyDelete
  13. Hi @Beckster, and welcome! The plate clearly relates to the refrigerator code somehow, but I haven't worked out how yet. You don't by any chance speak japanese, do you?

    ReplyDelete
  14. and I still don't know what the code 4253 is for

    ReplyDelete
  15. I'm afraid I may have insulted Leroy by calling him a maniac. Personally, I would take it as a compliment!

    ReplyDelete
  16. lol me tooooooooooo ..... it's good to be weird!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. where did you get 4253? For the little safe in the cupboard I used 2345, like on the books

    ReplyDelete
  18. I figured that the code on the plate referred to the frig somehow, but I can't figure it out. And no, I'm sorry I don't speak Japanese lol

    ReplyDelete
  19. 4253 is on the pic on the wall by the table and chairs

    ReplyDelete
  20. oh dear. when you highlight the paper (from the trash bin, I think?) you get some sort of clue. I think I'm going to have to consult some katakana charts, which usually takes me a loooong time.

    ReplyDelete
  21. hi everyone

one of the notes when you click the bottom right square, you can move the characters around...

    ReplyDelete
  22. oh yeah! I forgot all about the 4253!

    ReplyDelete
  23. yay, another helper!! lol........ ok i'm going to try that........ have yall found a way to "clean" the note with the smudge?

    ReplyDelete
  24. LOL wot should I say Zoz http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pqC563bX_w

    ReplyDelete
  25. ok it's 11:15pm here and my brain hurts lol.... i am going to try for another 5 mins and then i have to get some sleep!! lol

    ReplyDelete
  26. So Beck star build a profile...

    ReplyDelete
  27. I will.... sorry I'm still kinda new at posting lol

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think I am stuck where everyone else is with 2 notes, 3 cans and a clue that looks like the fridge

    ReplyDelete
  29. the 2 notes have similar symbols, but I can't figure out in what order to put the ones on the white note to match the ones on the manilla note

    ReplyDelete
  30. it was nice chatting with you all, but I have to get to bed........ gnite and ty for your help!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. As usual, my katakana/kanji search got me nowhere. But @Leroy, I love that youtube post!
Hi @Jo-Ann, here to save the day!

    ReplyDelete
  32. so all I have left is the number clue above the table, the box that opens on the bookshelf, the color code fridge thing, and the lock under the sink

oh and can turn on the water

and the second note has moveable characters

    ReplyDelete
  33. save the day??? I don't think so! lol

    ReplyDelete
  34. Once you click on that bottom right square and move it, you can move all the letters around. But how?

    ReplyDelete
  35. @Zoz, I am worried that language will be the issue now

    ReplyDelete
  36. also, why can you look at the items hanging in the kitchen?

    ReplyDelete
  37. and i still don't know why we can look at the side of the refrigerator. I wish I could figure out the plate/refrigerator code!
I'm afraid this may be where I come to a grinding halt, due to language ineptitude. :(

    ReplyDelete
  38. do you think the three things hanging in the kitchen, one is white because it is missing?

    ReplyDelete
  39. @zoz, I am thinking the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @JoAnn, I had not thought of that. I thought it was white because it was a light colored wood.
What about the bag of ?flour? by the refrigerator?
You know, if we spent half as much time learning japanese as we spend trying to figure out these escapes, they would all be much easier!

    ReplyDelete
  41. you can zoom on the left side of the sink cabinet also. tried washing the goopy paper in the sink but it did nothing

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Zoz, I think you could be right about learning japanese!

I just wish game makers would allow us to highlight text so we could make a feeble attempt to translate

    ReplyDelete
  43. also tried washing the goopy paper (and everything else)

may have to leave this one for someone else

    ReplyDelete
  44. yes, I think I'll come back tomorrow and find that someone came along and solved it in 2 minutes. Our inventory is full, so how much more can we need to do? Other than
    - solve the round refrigerator code
    - figure out why we can zoom left of sink and right of refrigerator
    - solve the note with moveable symbols
    - do something with the 4253 sequence
    - open the wheat bag
    - figure out the meaning of the green symbol on the tea towel that looks like the light fixture in the next scene upside down
    - find a can opener and use ?rocks?, fish, and crab to make some delectable dish, which will no doubt go on the plate with obtuse symbols
    - drink the beer
    - and, oh yeah, escape!

    ReplyDelete
  45. lol yes drink the beer!

I found an old cogito Ergo Sum Game that I haven't played...love those ones!

    see you tomorrow!

    ReplyDelete
  46. g'night and have fun with nyan and his friend (whose name I can't think of now)

    ReplyDelete
  47. Wan! It's Nyan and Wan. Now I can go to sleep.

    ReplyDelete
  48. So no one's solved this one yet!

    Additional notes:
    - I looked up the symbols above the 4253 picture in a hirigana table: "ka ta ka na"
    - the mystery can is tuna (I thought it would be scallops!)
    - the color lock on the stove is SPOILygrER This may be from the lamp, the towel, and something we haven't yet seen
-not mentioned above is view BL of sink
    - drawer under fridge doesn't fully open
    - some zoom views you get out of with arrow at bottom, others at top of screen (I thought game had locked up on me for awhile)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hi! for the stoves look at form of 2 shoes red and yellow and green form under the towel

    ReplyDelete
  50. Movable characters in the second note is an anagram puzzle. Solution is だいどころの しようゆ
This allows you to get a key from the fridge to use for under the sink in the kitchen.

    ReplyDelete
  51. The cup has colors inside. Use the orientation of the cup applied to the clue on the plate to solve the fridge puzzle.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hi Vigo, thx for the great find !
I have the fridge drawer open, got a new can but now what ?

    ReplyDelete
  53. Ahh the cans go under sink, looking for the sequence

    ReplyDelete
  54. The ka ta ka na (カタカナ) clue with the numbers 4-2-5-3 is the clue for the cans. That is, the number of hiragana characters from each content in the can (exclude katakana):

Then, position for the cans are:
    tuna フレーク (4)
    mackerel サバ (2)
    crab ズワイガニ (5)
    saury サンマ (3)
Get the key and as ZOZ recommended, escaped.

    ReplyDelete
  55. And out with 3rd wedding and anniversary.

    ReplyDelete
  56. LOLOLOLOL I got the key from the cans....and it does not work on the door!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  57. All I have left is the note that needs to be cleaned, but water doesn't help...and a key, tried to wash it too....how do I get out?????

    ReplyDelete
  58. nokra, there's a locked box in the fridge.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Oh, TY @vigo!!! already forgot about that...lol
I hate leaving a game unfinished...even if I did absolutely nothing here without help! lolol

    ReplyDelete
  60. Thanks for all help and translations :)
Have the final key now, but it doesn't fit on the door???
    Any hints pls?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Oh lol, should have refreshed before asking :)
    Thnx Vigo!

    ReplyDelete
  62. Damn!

    That fridge puzzle beats me.

I'm getting confused by the "dent" you can see on the plate bottom which (as I thought) must indicate the cup handle?

Cup handles at 12 o'clock, 2 o'clock and 4 o'clock are pointing same direction, but inside the marks are different.

    Hints please!

    ReplyDelete
  63. arbeitslooser, when rotating the cup you can see the color green is the one in the 'handle side'
It is this color the one you should use whenever the mark is on the side of the 'dent' on the clue, no matters if in this clue the dent-handle points up (like the one at 12) or if it points down (like the one at 6). These 2 buttons should go green then.

    ReplyDelete
  64. please help with that anagram, could you writ it with nunbers or something pleeaassee

    ReplyDelete
  65. from 1 to 10 please give me the right order of the letters from anagram, thx

    ReplyDelete
  66. Thank you so much @Vigo! Now I'm off to find an opener for that bottle of beer.

    ReplyDelete
  67. @PeteBarbu, I wish I could help you, but the game is closed now

    here's what I think I did:
    Top row
    123456
    change to
    235164
    Bottom row
    1234
    change to
    2143

    ReplyDelete
  68. Many, many thanks @Vigo for the translations and explanations!!!!

Also thanks @seb for the shoes!

This seemed like a game that was worth finishing and it was!

FYI I put the anagrammed characters into google translate -- the top word was "kitchen", the bottom word didn't translate to anything meaningful ("try boiled" or "Yu use of")

    ReplyDelete
  69. What is the solution of six colors??

  71. thanks edgar and out..

  72. hey everyone! i'm new here, but i was able to figure out this game with a bit of help from u guys + my limited japanese :))

if it helps, this is more or less the storyline:

this guy has hired you to figure out if his wife is having an affair as he has found a partially smudged note saying "i love you". thus, you're checking out the kitchen.

    ***SPOILER ALERT***
    some clues that will help:
    1) zoom onto the crumpled note you find. it's an anagram (rearrange the letters) that turns out to be だいどころの しようゆ. this is japanese for "soy sauce in the kitchen" (click the soy sauce to find a key)

    2) upon unlocking the compartment under the sink and finding the cup: there are 4 colors inside the cup - can correspond the location to where the cup handle is on the outside. this will break the code on the bottom of the plate -> which you will enter into the fridge lock.

    3) rabbit(?) key/lock:
the pattern corresponds to the colors of the slippers + the color of the towel hanging next to the sink --> enter these colors in sequence into the oven/lock.

    4) the picture hanging on the wall says 'katakana' and refers to the japanese alphabet- i won't go into detail with this, but you basically figure out the order to put the cans (on the pedestal thing under the sink) by counting the letters on the cans.

** when you finally get the key from under the sink, this is NOT for the door -- it is for the box in the fridge!
    ---------------

    ***CONCLUSION SPOILER ALERT***
just to explain the ending japanese:

You open the box to find a chocolate wedding cake ornament saying 'congratulations on your marriage!'. you realize that the wife wasn't cheating, but was probably planning a surprise for their wedding anniversary. the wife comes home and freaks out that you, a random stranger, is in her house. you have no choice but to explain to her that her husband hired you because he thought she was cheating (b/c of the paper he found). she explains that the paper said something like, "happy anniversary, i love you~~~ (etc.)" (the anniversary part was smudged out). so, you basically leave, feeling a little miffed. lol
    ----------------------
    hope this helps! :D
