Small Challenge

SmallTool - Small Challenge is another challenging brain teaser riddle based puzzle game created by Small Tool and for EscapeGames24. It's 30 levels and starts (I hope) very easy and is slowly getting harder. There will be no fancy riddle stuff to do, I mean; no info with hidden text, or in the source, or in the exif and/or picture properties; No picture manipulation; No audio manipulation, etc, etc. Everything you need will be there in plain sight on the level. Only on 2 or 3 levels you have to Google a little bit. Good luck and have fun! [Created and Subbed by Small-Tool]

  19. Any hints for LEVEL 9 after converting numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Thanks all. I figured since the arch only makes a lower case "n" all the letters would be lower case. :P

    ReplyDelete
  21. For level 9: Find another number and start counting.

    ReplyDelete
  22. translate then use the hidden number

    ReplyDelete
  23. Hey y'all. I feel kinda stupid, mostly 'cause I'm usually a whiz with riddles, but I'm stuck on level 2. I've got: line 1-wo 2- ? 3- fer 4- ring

    ReplyDelete
  40. @Cee Bee: Pay attention to what those words are and what is special about those words. Put the two together.

    ReplyDelete
  41. @ceebee have finished did you read the start page

    ReplyDelete
  42. Btw. Don't think too much about the pictures on level 13 and level 14. They're inside jokes about a riddle maker (Tim Tang) who thinks he is ruler of the world.

    ReplyDelete
  43. @mtatt100 - I thought I'd read the start page............ now you have me thinking......... did I miss something really basic???

    ReplyDelete
  44. as small said don't overthink

    ReplyDelete
  45. Have to go - have fun everyone

    ReplyDelete
  46. hmmmmmmm........... they are all countries and the capital letters spell 'no not easy' - am I on the right track?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Sorry to lose you annaby - cu soon!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yep, they're all countries and countries do have a capital. So find the capitals and pick letters. No anagram.

    ReplyDelete
  50. finally got 9! was overthinking... looking for hidden number in translated sentence....

    ReplyDelete
  51. Well, level 14 has me stumped.

    ReplyDelete
  52. JBG,
What is the sun telling you?

    ReplyDelete
  53. I recognize what the symbol is in the sun, but I don't know what it is telling me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. When you know what the sun is telling you, just count. Annd when you count from top to bottom and from left to right it isn't even an anagram.

    ReplyDelete
  55. I can't figure out level 5! I've taken the brain out of both words and I'm not left with anything useful!

    ReplyDelete
  56. huge spoiler that one for 14

    ReplyDelete
  59. Ellis,
It says NO BRAINER, not NO BRAIN

    ReplyDelete
  60. @Ellis, I think you have to take out all of 'brainer'

    ReplyDelete
  61. Now i just feel stupid!! Thank S-T & Laura

    ReplyDelete
  62. @Ellis, I did the same thing at first!

    ReplyDelete
  63. Are the things in level 3 supposed to be letters? e.g. 'Half a doughnut'= c or 'a tyre'= o

    ReplyDelete
  64. LEVEL 12...Colors? Shapes? Math? Totally clueless LOL

    ReplyDelete
  65. @The Random, you are on the right track!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. The Random,
You're very right, indeed C and O, keep on going like that.

    ReplyDelete
  67. @PurpleLogic, I'm where you are... someone said look at the shapes ...

    ReplyDelete
  68. Unfortunately I have to go :(......... I would really like to stay and finish this, but duty calls.......... thanks to all of you (especially S-T) for all your help so far. Hopefully when I come back you'll have left a lot of helpful hints for me to take advantage of. Thanks EG24 gamers!!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Level 12
The previous level had the title; No maths, no goolge. And now the title is just; No Google. so maybe it is a little bit about maths.

    ReplyDelete
  70. @PurpleLogic Yay, I'm so happy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Despite what level 16 tells me to do, I think I am still overthinking. I can't make anything work.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'm sorry s-t but you're just too cryptic for me!!

I'm going to have to give up due to it being very late here in the UK now but I wish everyone else the best of luck trying to get through all the levels.

I only made it to level 6!!

Well done once again s-t on keeping everyone entertained!!

    ReplyDelete
  73. ok got it now. I was definitely overthinking. Level 16 is very basic.

    ReplyDelete
  74. staring at square level 12 and can only think R for right angle.... wrong I'm sure....

    ReplyDelete
  75. for everyone else don't overthink level 16 you do that next level :)

    ReplyDelete
  76. Laura,
Look at the square as squared!

    ReplyDelete
  77. laura apply what you a staring at to the number

    ReplyDelete
  78. LEVEL 12
Maths are my weak suite. So I will need a larger nudge.

    ReplyDelete
  79. @laura: What does square and math have to do with each other?

    ReplyDelete
  80. A Square Squared? Now even more lost LOL

    ReplyDelete
  81. @purplelogic: What is the square equal to?

    ReplyDelete
  82. PurpleLogic,
First of all; make the letters (RBY) numbers and then do the maths.

    ReplyDelete
  83. thanks all! left to feed boys and came back and got 12 with all the hints...

    ReplyDelete
  84. Grrrrr! Stuck on level 6! Not sure how to look at that logically... (or look at it with maths, either)

    ReplyDelete
  85. The Random,
Read it like this; S and WITCH

    ReplyDelete
  86. @The Random, which one was level 6?

no idea for level 13... no-one said much other than don't pay much attention to picture so I must be missing something obvious?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Well, I'm going to have to stop for now. I have to leave. Level 18 is past half way though so I can feel good about stopping here.

    ReplyDelete
  88. @laura: Apply the title(useless notes) to the words. Ignore the picture.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Laura,
Notes can be something else than you're thinking of.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Thanks small-tool on to 14

    ReplyDelete
  91. I have hit a wall on Level 12. So I will be back later when I can think again.

    ReplyDelete
  92. i feel really stupid, but i cant get passed lvl 1, i saw the phrase, tried typing that and breaking it down to smaller pieces, but cant get it ... can someone help me please

    ReplyDelete
  93. @laura Level 6 is the one with a picture of sand and a picture of a witch.

    ReplyDelete
  94. @rds665 remember to enter the entire phrase without any spaces

    ReplyDelete
  95. can someone help with lvl 1 please, i read the posts, see the phrase, but none of it is working... what am i missing?

    ReplyDelete
  96. I may have hit a wall on 13, despite hints (thanks s-t and jbg!) It's not just taking out all the letters in notes...

    ReplyDelete
  97. @rds665 are you typing first letters of all the words, no capitals or spaces?

    ReplyDelete
  98. @purplelogic..... ty so much

    ReplyDelete
  99. LEVEL 1

    SPOILER
Enter this all in lower case without any spaces between words

    ReplyDelete
  100. @PurpleLogic, did you first convert RBY to number? That number is the square of another number...

    ReplyDelete
  101. Laura,
The musical notes are A, B, C, D, E, F and G, so get rid of all of them.

    rds665,
Use every first letter of every word and use that as answer without spaces.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Still stuck on level 12...TY for all the hints but I am math dense now. Feel free to email me any more direct hints so as not to ruin it for others

    ReplyDelete
  103. Thanks @s-t! and I call myself a musician...

    ReplyDelete
  104. Ok, so on level 6, I know that the word 'and' is there. I've tried putting it through my brain (which is great at solving anagrams) and came up with nothing. I am LOVING this! I almost never get challenged by anything!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Hi guys! I read the comments about L9 but I don't get it. I translated the numbers and apllied the hidden number on those letters but nothing comes understandable to me. Do I need to do the same as in L8?

    ReplyDelete
  106. PurpleLogic,
Here on EG24 we spoil it all, it's up to the readers if they want to be spoiled or not.
Anyway; Make the letters numbers and you have a 5 digit number. That's the square or squared. So for the line, take the square root and convert the numbers back to letters again.

    ReplyDelete
  107. LEVEL 12
Converted RBY to numbers, then multiplied them and found square root, but do not understand how to enter an answer

    ReplyDelete
  108. random you have s and witch
Isa use the number to pick letters from text

    ReplyDelete
  109. Easy way to count letters on level 8 (though it's probably too late for most people) either use the find on page in your browser and ignore the ones not in the text, or copy the text into a document and use the find feature there. I wish I'd thought of it before counting and recounting...

    ReplyDelete
  110. OMG TY TY SOOOO MUCH ST.. I would have been on 12 forever

    ReplyDelete
  111. Isa,
It's level 9, so after you made the numbers into letters to get a sentence, pick every 9th letter to get a four letter answer.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Omigod. Again, I am thick. Also, if you don't mind my saying, I like you, small-tool. You seem nice. (which is just a friendly compliment)

    ReplyDelete
  113. Thank you mtatt100 and small-tool. I'll try it.

    ReplyDelete
  114. yes but you haven't seen him yet lol

    ReplyDelete
  115. Stuck on 15, any help?

    ReplyDelete
  116. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  117. My rather advanced intellect is telling me that there is a pattern or the like in level 7.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Oh my God! How angry I was about this level 9! :) Thank you so much!

    ReplyDelete
  119. Level 15
The text on the level is a big hint and the the text on the picture is a big hint. But the tricky part is; although you think you have an answer that sounds ok with just the text, it's not right because you have to use the same method on the title.

    ReplyDelete
  120. The Random,
No patteren at all on level 7. Just make it words and count.

    ReplyDelete
  121. Thanks small-tool on to 16!

    ReplyDelete
  122. stuck at 3, what shape arch?

    ReplyDelete
  123. An arch is a lower case letter.
Not an U, try it upside down.

    ReplyDelete
  124. @s-t The Random deeply apologizes for being so dense, but he will require a bigger nudge.

    ReplyDelete
  125. stuck at 14 :-( I guess I don't know what the sun is telling me....

    ReplyDelete
  126. For level 7,
For example; 3 is three, so that's a word with 5 letters. And the 5th letter in the alphabet is E.

    ReplyDelete
  127. LEVEL 14
What product does is this logo famous for?

    ReplyDelete
  128. laura,
The sun has a Windows logo in it, so what would you count on the buildings and the transprort things?

    ReplyDelete
  129. thanks @s-t and PurpleLogic! must be because I'm a mac person :-0

    ReplyDelete
  130. Oh, I think I get it now. 77 is seventy seven, which has thirteen letters, and the thirteenth letter in the alphabet is M. Am I way off?

    ReplyDelete
  131. AAAH, MACs are wonderful!!!

    ReplyDelete
  132. @The Random, you've got it now!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Yep The Random, but count again; seventy seven has 12 letters is L

    ReplyDelete
  134. Oops. Cut me some slack with the counting, that's more fingers than I have. :P

    ReplyDelete
  135. @The Random, except 77 has 12 letters...

    ReplyDelete
  136. stuck on level 15 :-( sorry I'm asking for help on every level! am I supposed to cut out some of the center of each title? but don't know how much to take out?

    ReplyDelete
  137. Laura,
Not just 'some of the center' but the whole center. And don't forget about the title!!

    ReplyDelete
  138. Go ahead and throw it all out!!!

    ReplyDelete
  139. Stuck there with you Laura.
    Misery loves company I guess

    ReplyDelete
  140. thanks @s-t and Yoli.... @PurpleLogic, take it one word at a time....

    ReplyDelete
  141. For level 8, you count the number of times the letters C O U N T appear in sequence and enter it, right?

    ReplyDelete
  142. stuck on 16! even though jpg said very basic. is it an anagram?

    ReplyDelete
  143. @The Random, include title in your counting (though I'm pretty sure for U, I didn't include title... ) Also convert numbers back to letters...

    ReplyDelete
  144. Laura,
It's very, very basic! Remember what you did on level 1 ?

    ReplyDelete
  145. on 18 rumkin is your friend ;)

    ReplyDelete
  146. thanks again @s-t! overthinking... trying to use only words from pic...

    ReplyDelete
  147. Laura,
That goes for the whole riddle; Never overthink!!!! It's all logical, don't make up your own hints :)

    ReplyDelete
  148. okay thanks @small-tool... but level 17 says to overthink :-)

@The Random, nine of what? I didn't get 9 of any letter...

    ReplyDelete
  149. Lol, ok Laura. But overthink might be about over think, I mean; think about the 'over' part. Probably lousy English, but I mean; think (look very carefully at) about the first line.

    ReplyDelete
  150. thanks small-tool! I think that's a big hint :-) but still not quite sure... am I
looking for all the letters above the letters in think? don't have to answer, I can keep trying...

    ReplyDelete
  151. *facepalm* Excuse me. *is heard spouting obscenities in the next room* Never mind. I was counting how many times the WORD 'count' appeared.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Laura,
The first line has exactly the same amount of words as the second line. That's not a coincidence!!!
In the first line all the words have something in common (btw. the pic. gives you a hint about that too).
So with that info try to pick letters from the second line.

    ReplyDelete
  153. The Random,
    Don't think words. Think letters!!!

    ReplyDelete
  154. thanks again @small-tool, got it now!

    ReplyDelete
  155. for level 20, got some words from the pics, but what to do with the numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  156. 18 looks pretty hard, might be time to call it a night...

    ReplyDelete
  157. Laura, spell what you see on the first part

    ReplyDelete
  158. converted numbers to words but don't know what to do with boxes...

    ReplyDelete
  159. I counted the number of each letter in count that appeared in both the passage and the title. Then, I used the same process I used in level 7 to convert those numbers to letters. I got dhitk. What am I doing wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  160. @S-T I have no idea how long this took you to make, but you did an awesome job! The layers on some of the levels are just crazy! I'm not so good at riddles (I'm only on level 11 and that took hints and help), but still. Great work!

    ReplyDelete
  161. @The Random... for C, I got 7 total (2 in title, 5 in passage), so letter is G...
    For O, I got 12 total... etc

    ReplyDelete
  162. Help for lvl 11 please. Do I need to know anything about the Simpsons for this to make sense?

    ReplyDelete
  163. @T'Lai, agreed, a great game!

don't need to know anything about Simpsons... think how those numbers convert to those letters...

    ReplyDelete
  164. @The Random, you actually don't include the title in counting, there are 7 Cs in the text. I used a word processor to count the letters for me. :)

    ReplyDelete
  165. oops, sorry @Random! I must be a terrible counter...

    ReplyDelete
  166. Thanks laura!

    ReplyDelete
  167. Did everyone just disappear or did I suddenly just lose the ability to refresh properly? (Stuck on 18 btw)

    ReplyDelete
  168. what do you have on 18 T'Lai?

    ReplyDelete
  169. Still stuck on 15 after a small break.

    ReplyDelete
  170. And not enough of a break I guess. I need sleep. See you all in the morning

    ReplyDelete
  171. A bunch of numbers and colored squares.

@laura, Thanks for the help with 16!

    ReplyDelete
  172. stuck on 18 too... left and came back... have numbers to words, not sure about blocks other than there are the right number to spell each color...

    @PurpleLogic...

    SPOILER
take 1st and last letters of every word...

    ReplyDelete
  173. @PurpleLogic, check out S-T's hint at 8/3/12 5:36 PM. The item has a colour too.

    ReplyDelete
  174. T'Lai spell out the name of the color in the squares

    ReplyDelete
  175. @T'Lai, yw! (it was 11? you got from there to 18 really quickly!)

    ReplyDelete
  176. lol Yep. But only because of all the hints that are up on here!

    ReplyDelete
  177. yes it helps! not enough hints for 18 for me yet...

    ReplyDelete
  178. Oops, yes laura, it was 11, not 16. Still not seeing 18 though.

    ReplyDelete
  179. @Donas are you still here?

    ReplyDelete
  180. T'Lai, read down the last letters of each color

    ReplyDelete
  181. Laura and T'Lai, you will get two 3 letter words, convert the other numbers in the basic way

    ReplyDelete
  182. SPOILER (maybe)
    I'm getting:
    cipher=autokey
Is this right? I tried the actual word for what the jumble of letters sounds like, but it didn't work.

    ReplyDelete
  183. thanks @Donas, now have 4 words? do we convert PSHQIC to numbers? feeling dense on this one...

    ReplyDelete
  184. yes, that is right, now take the gibberish and decipher it (rumkin is your friend)

    ReplyDelete
  185. don't normally do riddles... found an autokey on rumkin.com, is that what you mean?

    ReplyDelete
  186. yes, Laura give it a try

    ReplyDelete
  187. Almost 400 comments, so new comments will be on the next page

    ReplyDelete
  188. What's rumkin?

    ReplyDelete
  189. @Donas, sorry so slow here but no idea what I'm doing...

    Passphrase??? (cipher?)
    Your message = pshqic??
