Laura, use the other 3 letter word you found as the passphrase and set it to decrypt, no alphabet key
ReplyDeleteWow. Thanks Donas! Never would have figured that out myself...
ReplyDeletegetting 'coldeg' :-/
ReplyDeleteoops, got it now, went to wrong page... thanks SO MUCH @Donas, guess I've learned a new tool... (and I like the Canadian spelling :-)
ReplyDeleteDouble check your letters, it does work.
ReplyDeleteLevel 19, apparently not who I thought I'd call...
ReplyDeleteI knew it was too much to hope that 19 would be ghostbusters...
ReplyDeleteBe back in a little while.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome T'Lai and Laura, off to bed now. For 19, try dialing what you see.
ReplyDeletebye all, calling it a night now too...
ReplyDeleteI'm back - I must be over thinking lvl 16 - stuck even with the hints that have been given :(
ReplyDelete@Cee Bee... is that the tropical island? take first letter of each word...
ReplyDelete@laura... yes. I tried that - I must be using the wrong words
ReplyDeleteuse all the words across the bottom
ReplyDeleteALL the words?? 22 of them?? or just the final 5? Am I being thick - lol
ReplyDelete@Cee Bee, all of them, you'll see when you try it! (I thought it was too much at first too... )
ReplyDeleteTY Laura - I WAS being thick!!!!
ReplyDeleteyw... just overthinking, I did too on that one (tried to choose certain words)
ReplyDeleteHave read the comments, but im still stuck on Lvl 4. Help, please. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHi clio_rose, is that the one with the eggs, plate etc.
ReplyDelete@clio-rose,
ReplyDeletecount each set of items except the plate... you'll end up with 5 digits of a well known number ... (it's used in finding area of a certain shape)
plate is a
SdPeOcIimLaElR
anyone have a little more of a clue on 19 please?
ReplyDeleteThanks Cee Bee and Laura. On to 5 now.
ReplyDelete@rds665, I'm still stuck on 19... have been waiting for help, but really need to call it a night... good luck!
ReplyDeleteI'm stuck on 19 too
ReplyDeleteI'm back and I got to level 21 now, but it is bed time for me.
ReplyDeleteFor level 19 convert the words to numbers and then convert back to letters.
ReplyDelete@jpg, I'd tried converting using phone, then back using alphabet, but got jibberish?
ReplyDeleteThat is the right method. You shouldn't get gibberish doing that. You will get 7 letters that make 2 words.
ReplyDeleteokay I got 18 letters... need to be more selective!
ReplyDelete18 letters? what did you translate? Don't use the words on the phone screen, but the ones below the keypad.
ReplyDeleteI did the same as you laura - fooled by the island one LOL!!
ReplyDeleteOH, jeez, thanks. knew I should have gone to bed.
ReplyDeleteOn 21, I counted and got a word after anagramming, but it doesn't work as the answer. I don't hear anything and morse code doesn't seem to work. If anyone gets past this level, please leave some hints for me.
ReplyDeletelol, speaking of going to bed. I need to go to bed now. I will finish the rest tomorrow. Bye everyone that is still here.
ReplyDelete@Cee Bee, glad I wasn't the only one!
ReplyDelete@jbg, bye, thanks for help!
Is anyone still here?
ReplyDelete@Cee Bee, shouldn't be but I am, stuck with Rome and red Germany...
ReplyDeleteThat's where I am too - don't have a clue what the numbers mean. I should have gone to bed ages ago too - these things are addictive - lol
ReplyDeleteyeah... converting to letters doesn't seem to help...
ReplyDeleteI know! and when I know someone else has gotten it, I think I should be able to too! but, really going now... cu tomorrow probably... good luck!
bye laura
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to put a hint out there for LEVEL 8
ReplyDeleteWhen Counting C O U N T only the text below the picture is relevant. I must of counted 100 times before i realized this fact :)
OH AND WOW 441 COMMENTS SO FAR, YAY PIDDLES
ReplyDeleteIm a bit stuck on Lvl 11. I think im doing the right thing, but mustn't be. The four numbers can give 7 letters, but im not getting the answer. Help, again please. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteHey Clio Im on 10 be there in a minute (hopefully)
ReplyDeleteHi Queens, yo p'dizzy !!
ReplyDeleteOK Im on 11 now YAY
ReplyDeleteGot it....derr....its the very thing i love to do.
ReplyDeleteThat Level 11 was so so clever I loved the concept, but its definitely not my favorite thing to do like CLIO.
ReplyDeleteDONT FORGET TO FEED PIDDLES :)
ReplyDeleteWHAT Level 14, DO I see 13 Fn sunflowers is that some kind of Joke Small, I dont even want to look at this level, Do I get banned if i try to many answers?
ReplyDeleteprogress after a 12 hr break. On 16 now - thanks to all who left the great hints!
ReplyDeletewhy is level 3 not 'disco' ?
ReplyDelete@tosca - you have one letter wrong (D).
ReplyDeleteThe letters are the shapes of the words in order - what letter could an arch be?
@tosca because there is no "d" in the answer
ReplyDeleteCheck out small-tool post at 8/3/12 2:49 PM
Stuck here on LEVEL 17
ReplyDeleteI see clues about number of words in both sentences and a key letter above but cannot figure what to do with that info
And I do not see what all the words in first sentence have in common
PurpleLogic. Note the different colour of a letter in the cartoon caption. That's the letter you need.
ReplyDeleteWhere that letter appears in the top sentence, pick the corresponding letter from the bottom sentence.
thanks @Clio - I'm stuck on 17 too and will try that. btw, how are you feeling?
ReplyDelete18 - oh jeez!
ReplyDeletegot it after finding all the hints
ReplyDeleteFeeling much better this evening, Annaby. Thank you for asking. x x. Im completely stuck on Lvl 21. I can make a 5 letter word...which isnt the answer...and ive not got a clue what to try next.
ReplyDeleteHi clio, have you counted?
ReplyDeleteTY clio_rose
ReplyDeletento 18 now and I second annaby's reaction LOL
Hi Donas. To get the letters i got, yes i did. Do i need to count something else? I counted the lines...and used that letter..and then anagrammed, but that isnt the answer. Im trying to think of something that uses sound? Am i completely off-track?
ReplyDeleteGlad you're feeling better. Sounds like you counted the black lines, try counting the other lines. ;)

ReplyDeleteI'm stuck on lvl 20. Can someone give me a hint please.
ReplyDeleteTY Ann, got 18 and now gonna call home I guess LOL
ReplyDeleteHi @Cee Bee - I'm on 20 too - can't find any hints
ReplyDeleteHi annaby, sounds right except look for last letters to make words with the rows of colors, not numbers
ReplyDelete@Donas - thanks for the correction - that was an error due to being too hasty :)
ReplyDeleteFor 20, look for a basic riddle hint, that we haven't used before. Maybe try the pics?
ReplyDeleteLevel 18: corrected summary of the hints I found. Convert numbers to letters, write out colors and look at the last letters in each column for 2 words. Use Rumpkin autokey - pass phrase is the extra 3 letter word you found, message is the gibberish. Set to decrypt.
ReplyDeleteThanks @Donas - will try that
ReplyDeleteLEVEL 20
ReplyDeleteI know what it isn't: Calling codes
Annaby....for 20, i converted the numbers to the roman...then translated the word red into German which told me what decoder thingy to use.
ReplyDeleteDonas...ive tried the vertical lines on the text, but still nothing. Subtle as a tractor hint please?
clio, try counting the white lines
ReplyDelete@clio, thanks for 20 hint!
ReplyDelete@Donas, I tried white lines but have 5 consonants?
TY Donas, clio - I never would have got that by myself.......finally on lvl21
ReplyDeleteclio - I know the cipher to use but am not getting an answer. You converted to roman numerals?
ReplyDeleteClio, you missed some of the wide white lines
ReplyDeleteoh - never mind - I forgot the 2nd number was only for the cipher. (banging head on wall)
ReplyDeleteWow, you're all doing great.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the progress :)
lol..that was Laura, not me, donas. .. but...do the white lines between count as 2 or 1? My eyeballs are getting confused...hahha
ReplyDeleteLEVEL 21
ReplyDeleteCounted white lines, got 5 letters and anagrammed them into a word that is not the answer. STUCK
Oh and thanks Small Tool for reminding me to get my eyes checked LOL
ReplyDeleteclio, which one would give what you need? (vowel)
ReplyDeleteyou guys lost me on the hints for 20, could you point me in the right direction please
ReplyDeleteLEVEL 20
ReplyDeleteArrow points to Rome..Convert numbers to roman numerals
Country is Germany in RED, Translate RED into German to find type of cipher to use
Use the roman numerals on that cipher for answer
rds665. Convert the numbers on the left to roman numerals. For the right, it is a pic of Germany, but coloured red. Translating red into German, gives the word ROT which is a deciphering thingy. Use http://www.purplehell.com/cgi-bin/riddles/rot.pl and then type in your roman numerals....read down till you find a word which makes sense.
ReplyDeleterds665,
ReplyDeleteThe left picture has two hints. It's called antico = Italian for ancient. And the arrow is pointing at Rome. So that's the hint to make the number Roman numerals.
The right picture is called farbe = German for colour. The colour is red. Red translated back to German is Rot. So that's the hint to use rot 9 on the Roman numerals.
@rds665... convert Italy no. to roman - use cipher indicated by colour of Germany to decode - answer is
ReplyDeletethe 9th variation
OK now that we ALL helped rds665....Another hint for 21 and white lines and counting and anagrammed and answer is not sound???
ReplyDeleteLOL!! - You all type faster than me too!
ReplyDeleteWow, wish i had known that on 20 small. It might have made it easier on myself, and saved a few of my brain-cells.
ReplyDeleteLevel 21 is not an anagram.
ReplyDeleteThe small white lines give you consonants and the wider white lines gives you the vowels (in fact all the same vowel).
TY Small Tool...back to counting AGAIN LOL
ReplyDeletety clio and purple logic, that is what i was doing but i dont see a word, am i missing something else? do i need to anagram one of them?
ReplyDeleteThanks s-t - now on to 22!
ReplyDelete22 - not what I think? I'm thinking arghh!
ReplyDeleteTY s-t....... that did it!
ReplyDelete@small-tool........I keep on ignoring your instruction NOT to overthink - derrrrr!
ReplyDeleteThanks Captain Small. On to 22.
ReplyDeleteThe main hint for the whole riddle is; Don't overthink!
ReplyDeleteAnd it's almost never an anagram.
LEVEL 20
ReplyDeleteRoman Numerals = SPOILER
Use SPOILER to get answer
http://www.purplehell.com/cgi-bin/riddles/rot.pl
Wow over 500 comments now! Well done on the success small! An well done everyone else, i am here cheering you all on lol :)
ReplyDeleteIn fact, I think the first level where you guys will encounter another anagram is on level 29.
ReplyDeleteThe main hint for the whole riddle is: Don't forget! Its always a smalltool riddle. i.e prepare your brain cells to be tricked.
ReplyDeleteLEVEL 22
ReplyDeleteAGAIN NOT WHAT YOU THINK
Heck I don't even know what to think on this one LOL
A nudge in the right direction please
PurpleLogic,
ReplyDeleteThe brown and yellow fields have symbols on them. What are those symbols?
Im with purple logic. I havent got a clue about 22. but might call it a day, after 21 levels, maybe....
ReplyDelete22 what does it look like
ReplyDeleteyour first thought is wrong do what you have been doing a lot in this riddle back and forward
got the answer for 22 through cheating
ReplyDeletecan't believe it, I got 22!
ReplyDeletecongrats @laura - and you didn't cheat!
ReplyDeleteno but I'm tempted to on 23 (if I knew how!)
ReplyDeleteWhere did you cheat from Annaby? What did i miss?
ReplyDeleteno clue on 23
ReplyDeleteOn 23 the text has the clues.
ReplyDeleteWhat's a code you can hear?
samuel may help you
ReplyDeletemorse code?
ReplyDeleteYep Annaby,
ReplyDeleteThat's HEAR.
So make it so and then SEE.
or some other samuel I don't know about
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDelete@Purplelogic - I think you've got it
ReplyDelete@PurpleLogic, exactly!
ReplyDeleteIndeed PurpleLogic.
ReplyDeleteAnd if you follow the shape it isn't an anagram.
Yeah!! I actually did 22 without much help & 23 on my own ..........can't believe it!! :)
ReplyDeleteYeah @Cee Bee! I'm not seeing 23... any more hints?
ReplyDeletePurple logic. Favour please. Put that comment back in. I will need it tomorrow. Thanks in advance. hehe
ReplyDeleteI need another hint on 23 too
ReplyDelete@laura - pen & paper required... draw it out
ReplyDeleteOf course now I haven't the foggiest where to begin on 24 - back to being dense lol
ReplyDeleteCee Bee,
ReplyDeleteWhat is the title telling you?
@ clio_rose
ReplyDeleteLEVEL 22
Add and subtract to existing letters by the amount you see.
@Cee Bee, do we need to translate letters to morse?
ReplyDeleteI must be blind as well as deaf on 23, can't see anything
ReplyDelete@laura ..yes
ReplyDelete@Donas... don't connect dots..... do the other one
ReplyDelete@Clio - add to Purplelogic's hint - by the amount of the number the shape of the letters make
ReplyDelete@s-t... I'm overthinking again!! I must stop doing that, on 25 now
ReplyDeleteLol, I told you so Cee Bee.
ReplyDeletewell, 23 would have been a lot faster if I hadn't mixed up rows
ReplyDeletestill stuck on 23! drew out all morse... am I supposed to connect the dashes??
ReplyDeleteand of course I had to google what I wasn't supposed to in 24
ReplyDelete@laura - connect the dashes - it will spell a word
ReplyDelete@laura... each column
ReplyDelete@CeeBee - you blew through 24 - can you give me a little hint?
ReplyDeleteThanks Cee Bee, finally on to 24
ReplyDeleteah, thanks all, by column!
ReplyDelete@annaby... I'll try:
ReplyDeleteconvert each letter to morse ie O becomes ---
write each letter out in columns as in the clue
connect all the dashes and you shoud have a 7 letter word
@annaby: sorry that didn't post right:
ReplyDeleteO becomes - - -
@Cee Bee - thanks, but 24 is where I'm stuck
ReplyDelete@annaby... OMG!! I'm really losing it... LOL!!
ReplyDeleteAs s-t said: What does the heading tell you
Annaby,
ReplyDeleteWhat is the title telling you?
You are looking for 4 letter word and don't overthink!
ReplyDeleteStill stuck on 23 and morse code..sadly my drawing skills suck. I either get zig zag zig zag or zag zig zag zig
ReplyDeleteI have tried with spaces and without...Am I looking at the lines i draw to be letters or the spaces they leave?
thanks for hints, on to 25!
ReplyDeleteThe first column should look like this;
ReplyDelete---
-..
---
..-
---
And that's your first letter.
do we need to know who these guys are??
ReplyDeleteYep Laura,
ReplyDeleteYou need to know who they are.
Google images will help.
- - - = O do this for all column underneath each other
ReplyDelete@Purple logic - make sure your morse code is clearly separated into columns, then draw straight lines thru the dashes (no zigs or zags) so you get a letter from each column
ReplyDeleteHow do you google an image?
ReplyDeleteTo Google an image you can drag it to your desktop
ReplyDeletethen drag it to the image search box on Google
Open Google Images. There click the little camera icon in the search bar and there you can upload a picture.
ReplyDeleteYou better first download the pic to your pc. To make it into two pics with only one guy on it.
But if It's too hard I can give the names.
http://images.google.com/
ReplyDeletesave pic then click camera and upload the image to the link
I was trying to do that, but can't seem to separate the two guys
ReplyDeleteyou can also have an add on to certain browsers which enable you to right click the image then google it
ReplyDeleteUse a snipping tool to isolate any image
ReplyDeleteI should know who they are anyway - jeez!!
ReplyDeletegoogle images will give you one guy
ReplyDeleteIf anyone has a completed image for level 23 I would love to see it since I have now realized I am not even close to as smart as I thought I was. LOL I am Riddle Challenged today
ReplyDeletedon't see camera icon :-/
ReplyDeleteThe camera icon is actually in the image search box
ReplyDeleteFound one guy - and yes! I should have known him!!
ReplyDeleteGoogle URL Image Search Method
