ReplyDeleteCell phone was just a clue for SAM. If you can't read it, any phone will do.
Medallions get a little bigger when you pick them up so you will be able to see which order to put them in.

ReplyDeletenice and easy one...but loved sneaky's new avatar...with brown hair and blue eyes...
ReplyDeletewhere is madalion with the letter E?
ReplyDeletemissed in the Q :)
ReplyDeleteGreat game as always! But did anybody find a Sneaky Coin anywhere? I didn't.
ReplyDeleteAlso, couple minor errors. If you click the closeups of the medallions, it says they have shapes on them that they don't. (Leftover code from number medallions in other games.) Also, when you put in your high score, it says it's the high score table for "Alpha Escape 2".

ReplyDeleteAwesome as usual.... but why did we have to give the relic to her.... couldn't we just have hit her in the head and ran away, lol
ReplyDeleteWell, @bellee76, you do have a point-- we did still have a hammer in out inventory. ;}
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I've done this, so...
ReplyDeleteThe following vaguely walkthrough-like piece is the true account of one writer's experience...
Rise of a Bête Noire
A new treasure, but this one comes with a twist—competition. But, I welcome the challenge—everyone, including myself, knows that Sneaky always succeeds; why would this time be any different? No time to think on that now as I arrive at the location.
Curse you, yellow gem! No matter how I jump, I cannot seem to knock it down. With a sigh, I don’t even bother looking at the conspicuous panel on the pillar. I wander towards the right.
Hah! A ladder! Wait… That seemed a little too convenient… With a shrug, I go back for the gem, but then return to this area to continue my search.
Hey—it’s a koi pond! How pretty—wait a sec… There’s another yellow gem!
I pause before continuing. This music… Then I remember my PSP is still on, and turn it off. Hmm… so it wasn’t the Final Fantasy menu music I was hearing…? Well, it’s fun for the background music on this adventure, at least. Onward!
A map! As I pocket the piece of paper, I notice something in the fountain… Huh. This is an interesting medallion… It’s either some sort of weird symbol or the letter “E”… Oh, what nice yellow flowers they have growing here, so bright and lively… As I admire them, one comes off in my hand. I search through the rest to find a third yellow gem.
I return to the front and place the gems in the panel, press the button to open the safe, and find the silver key. Now, to enter the house…
A switch! In my compulsory nature, I flip it. Though curious as to what lies upstairs, I get the feeling it’s nothing important. So, I’ll go left instead.
Not much of anything in here, so left again.
There’s a note on the counter… something about “Sam”… Huh… I get the feeling I’ve met a dog by that name recently… Hey, outside… is that…?
POOL! Man, these are the only times I ever get to go swimming.
Aw, that’s cute—a fountain that looks like dolphins. This big rock seems out of place here. Maybe I’ll just move it… Hey! There’s a black key here! No clue where to use it, but I have it! It looks like there’s one more place to search while I’m outside.
Hmm… the lights on the house are on, but these are off… Inside one is… Is that a medallion!? With the promise of being able once again to break things, I return inside.
Through the next left, I find not much, but down from there…
The kitchen! I’m starved! Snagging a banana from the counter, I notice a corkscrew. I pocket it, just in case.
To the right is a grill. I randomly open it… I think I see something… I manage to remove the panel to find… “I” medallion… On the counter is a cell phone—I almost missed it.
Back and right is a bedroom—must be awesome when it comes to midnight snacks. In the dresser is a screwdriver! Well, back to the main hall, then…
I end up with another angle on the living room. Hey, there’s a door. I wonder what’s behind—it won’t open. Looks like it wants a white key… Great. The opposite of what I have. With a sigh, I continue left.
Here’s a dining table, but not much else—ooh! Switch! I flip it, then continue left… again…
Ah, stairs—with so many directional options. I think I’ll go left first—might as well.
A bedroom… with another switch! … Maybe I should talk to someone about my compulsory flipping of switches… Anyway… This looks like one of those scented candles, but I can’t smell anything. Maybe I’ll light it if I find a lighter or matches… Back to the stairs for now.
ReplyDeleteHow about down this time? … Or not… Gold key, huh? With a sigh, I head upstairs instead.
Switch! … Yeah… I probably need some help with that… Wow—this must be a really old computer, what with that bulky monitor. Nice screensaver, though. Anyway, I guess I’ll go right this time… Oh, come on! Now YOU want a BLUE key!? With a sigh, I turn left instead… I’m about to loudly curse at yet another locked door when I notice that it wants a BLACK key. I pull the key I found by the pool from my pocket. Black key… Black keyhole… I almost literally jump for joy and unlock the door.
Ha! I knew there would be a suspicious painting somewhere! Huh… a number code box, eh? 3 digits… ‘Maybe I could text “Sam” for help,’ I think sarcastically. Then, I pause—maybe that’s not such a bad idea… I convert “SAM” into texting numbers… It works! I find the “N” medallion. Eyeing the painting suspiciously, I start searching the side table drawers… Here’s a white key! I rush back downstairs to the proper door and unlock it.
It’s another relatively empty bedroom… The top drawer on the side table is stuck. Time for the trusty screwdriver! Hey—matches! I can go light that candle. On my way out, I pause. Something about the plant in the corner seems odd… Investigating, I knock off one of the flowers… It’s a blue key! Rejoice! First, though, I think I’ll go for the candle.
Back in the room left of the stairs, I light the candle. Instead of a scent I get another medallion… “Y”… Wondering over what these letters might mean, I head to unlock the blue door.
It’s another bedroom, this time with a color code box. I pause, then go back to the computer. The screensaver has the same number of shapes as colors on the box… I count the number of points, order the colors by fewest to most, enter the order into the box, and… Gold key! I nearly trip down the stairs rushing to unlock the door.
Here’s yet another bedroom… with a hammer! It’s smashing time! But, first, maybe I should finish investigating here. In the adjoining bathroom, I find yet another switch by the sinks. By the tub, I find that someone is trying to butter me up with some wine… Well… Wait. The bottle isn’t open…? I use the corkscrew to find the bottle was holding the “S” medallion. I get a sinking feeling, possible spellings coming to mind. But, there’s still one more medallion. NOW it’s smashing time.
I return outside to the lights beyond the pool. I smash the lamp with the medallion in it. “D”… In frustration, I smash the other one, too. I head back towards the suspicious painting in the black key room.
As expected, the painting has become a safe. With a sigh, I place the medallions to spell “SIDNEY.” The safe opens to reveal the necklace artifact. Great. With another sinking feeling, I leave the room.
Yep—it’s her. Yeah, I’d heard of her—and she had just used me as her tool for getting the relic. Not exactly interested in dying young, I sigh and hand over the necklace.
Now that she’s let me escape with my life, it’s time I get to know this new nemesis…
(END)
Thank you, Layla -- great WT!
