    ReplyDelete
  26. @Estefania, the numbers on the toast refer to the letter in the phrase. So the top line on the toast gives "13, 5, 11" which corresponds to O, N, and E in the phrase. So the top number is One.

Thanks a lot for the explanation of the numbers on the toast.
BTW, the author of the sentence was the french philosopher and scientist René Descartes (he wrote this in latin "Cogito, ergo sum").

  35. Hi, guys, if y'all don't already know this, Tesshi-e has a game for sale, "Escape from Mr. M's Room". It's 238 Japanese yen, which converts to $2.35 in US dollars. I figure with all the joy this wonderful developer has brought us through the years, I could spare a few "happy coins" to support him! Plus, you get a lovely wallpaper included for your computer, with Mr. Hippo, Mr. Birdies and the little wooden green man! Here is the site if anyone is interested.. http://www.dlmarket.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=233744

  57. Love Tesshi-E games! I missed the phrase clue on the toast, but figured it out from the doubled letters at the end of 'three' and the repeated N in 'nine'.

I was reading the book as 'I think, therefore I am toast.' as a bit of a pun on Decartes.
