  46. How could this buggy game get 4 stars?????

I got out of the desert loop, but I too never picked up the thing behind the curtain and when I went back it was gone...but I ended up with three bottles of water.

I mean, I know we love SD and all, but come on...

    ReplyDelete
  47. GONGTATS!

Oh, wait . . that was the other site.

Ended up with a bunch of water bottles that didn't do anything.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Game was not buggy for me. I was able to get to the end with no problem. So what - five bottles of water is better than none, right?

    Fun series, SD! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Because mistakes like that would bring out all kinds of nasty comments for any other developer, but since it's SD he can just phone it in and we're all like 'oh yay'.

i like SD too. I doubt SD minds some constructive criticism, being so accessible as he is and all.

And like i said, a game with these mistakes gets 4 stars and that really good ENA game gets 3, maybe. And I don't think anyone is cheating at voting, that's not what I'm saying, I just think some have their favorites whether the game is really that good or not.

Am I off the cheerleading squad now? Do I not get to sit at the cool kid's table anymore?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah, I missed the vent behind the curtain. Oops, it wasn't supposed to be there. Sorry about that. Other than that, I have no idea how anyone got more than one bottle. I can't get it to happen. :) I updated the game. Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thanks Selfdefiant! This is why we love you! :)

    ReplyDelete
  52. I played through the first time only after the update - works beautifully and cute ending!

  54. Not you
Yes you are right up to a point
We forgive SD mistakes because he ALWAYS owns up to them and fixes them immediately and keeps an eye on these sites
He is a very prolific game maker and mistakes are bound to happen!
I will get off my soap box now
    Thanx SD

  55. Thank you for a great game again.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Thank you Rachel for your hint about the circle and the number it converts to. That had me stumped for a while! That was the clue I needed to carry on.

  57. Joe M:

I agree with you! SD cares about us folks who play his games. And he puts out some really great games. He is the reason I got into escape games in the first place, lo those many years ago, playing the pretty mansion and beach ones (I remember playing one on my lunch break one day and someone came into my office and said 'that is a beautiful house!' they didn't know it was a game!)

I think I just get discouraged for other game makers who, no matter how much they improve, always seem to get the same 'meh' ratings. I've always been a sucker for the underdog, though. :)

Anyway, as always, I appreciate SD and look forward to playing his games for a long time to come.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I love all your games SD... Not crazy about dark (room) games. But yours always put a smile on my face! I can associate with the jeep...we have one exactly same color! Thanks for the entertainment and the fun!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thanks everyone, I always try to fix any mistakes that might slip through. I wish you all knew how hard I work to make each game. :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Another great series - I hope the next one is up soon. Thank you, Selfdefiant, and you know most of us appreciate your efforts.

    ReplyDelete
  61. NotYou:
Best to just ignore the rating stars.
They have always been about the developer and not about the game, and have always been "stacked".
Moving them to the game page hasn't changed that, and in fact seems to have made it worse.
Escaper should never have brought them back.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Selfdefiant, as someone who does a lot of coding I do understand the work that goes in to making a game.
I looked back at your early games here a couple weeks ago, and they were *never* buggy even though they were bigger and more complex than your current games, which require your attention more often than not anymore.
I can't help wondering what has changed at your end to make it so?

    ReplyDelete
  63. Most of it has to do with coding in AS3 now. All of the old games were AS2 and I knew it better. I was forced to move to AS3 and am not as good yet. :) I keep trying to get better though. Also I make games at a lot faster rate.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Ahhh, I see.
Well don't rush things on our account.
Most of us would rather have it good than fast if there is a choice to be made.
    And thanks!

  65. When were you voted spokesman, bill?!
