ReplyDeleteFrom Wiki:
ReplyDelete"Steinheil script (code to print dots on paper via telegraph, not used due to the adoption of the Morse Code)"
Never knew that!
) A friend's father worked in the museum when I was a kid. All that boring stuff comes in handy sometimes - sometimes not
ReplyDeleteIf it is a form of steinheil then it is only a 5 letter word though
The clue has 14 letters, the surround has 14 symbols
ReplyDeleteIs a line one that crosses out?
Well if was, then Universal anagram solver came up with these, none of which work.

ReplyDeleteYes he was but no the bell goes gong :)
Actually, how do you know he's a Sir?
ReplyDeletedidn't the mason say he was pardoned and even knighted?
ReplyDeleteAren't we looking for a name on a grave?
ReplyDeleteDifferent to the Captain I mean, or have I read this wrong.
Actually, thinking about it - it's the Captain who is at the centre of the puzzle isn't he lol
ReplyDeleteOkay went through it all to chapter 13 again and he was only pardoned and not knighted
ReplyDeletemasonic titles don't help
ReplyDeletemaritime titles don't help
"Sire" doesn't help
"The" doesn't help
Lol, Rambler, I think we are looking for the captain, is he real or fictional? I keep going back to the 2 ships, but can't make it work
ReplyDeleteTried binary too, using the length of the words, all I got was EBAB!
ReplyDeleteEven tried the characters from pirates of Penzance!
ReplyDeleteLol Momma:
ReplyDelete"I'm very good at integral and differential calculus" NOT!
The clue talks about going back to the cavern following a certain route, tried using the leftover letters there, no luck

ReplyDeletebut donas which riddle tool should i use in puple hell...
ReplyDeleteraasti, look at the last thing Holmes says, do they have another name?
ReplyDeleteok thanx rambler
ReplyDeleteraasti
ReplyDeleteIt is an alphabet of the people that Holmes identifies
Look for that alphabet (which I didn't know existed until today) and you will be able to decipher it
Well done raasti, I'll delete that now...
ReplyDeleteok now sme hint on chapter 6

Hi everybody!!
ReplyDeleteI am stupidly stuck on 11. Got the anagram, answered the Who? question but can't make the obvious conclusion So the answer is...
Rambler, ROFL,CGU!
ReplyDeleteHi al sal, combine them

@al sal, if you got both the eggs, put them together.
ReplyDeleteHi donas.. That was indeed stupid!! Had been trying it in the wrong order.. Aarggh
ReplyDeleteHi al sal, hurry to 16, we need new eyes or brain maybe!
ReplyDeleteThanks people... Working on the pentagram now
ReplyDeleteYep, that'll do. Hopefully we'll get a decent draw in the next round.
ReplyDeleteWhoops, wrong board lol
ReplyDeleteFor 16:
ReplyDeleteYou are doing the correct things, but to the wrong letters. Someone already tried the correct ones, but didn't get there.
What is on the front of the coin?
You only need a last name.
You may have to mix it up a bit.

ReplyDeleteO.K. I feel rather slow today.. Still on 12
ReplyDeleteI get 1,7,18,4,14 from cornwish numbers which gives me a word for sth reaally big.
And then I get from binary a word for a well known prize or a word for bluebloods
Tried these words but NO LUCK..
What am I doing wrong??
Tried every anagram of DANBEUTIY that I can imagine!
ReplyDeleteNVM. Was wrong on binary translation... 13 now
ReplyDeleteAl Sal
ReplyDeleteHad the same problem
Used google and put the cornish number word in along with a reference to the town and got a hit. Still don't understand where the second word came from
TY, Itt, at last on to 17
ReplyDeleteMomma, try the other way
ReplyDelete1100
ReplyDelete0101
0100
0111
1111
and anagram gives the right word RSA Momma
BAIFYRAGN ?
ReplyDeleteNo, Momma, use the other letters
ReplyDeleteYee haaa
ReplyDeletegot the pony express out of that one at bleeding last!
hi again
ReplyDeletei dont hav ruler for chap6
but ikno i hav to trace the path
i did that
but its not redruth
can any1 tell me the first letter of town.....
raasti, you can visually draw a straight line to the coast from the last cities
ReplyDeleteraasti
ReplyDeleteSorry Raasti, we can't do that. The game maker wouldn't like it.
Can't really tell you anything that hasn't been in all the other clues from the last page. Sorry
I'm back !
ReplyDeleteRambler, Donas, thank you for chapter 10. I don't understand the 3rd letter of code and the grid with letters, but I'm going to guess, since I have the other 3 letters...
what city
ReplyDeleteits not hayle its not penzance
than what is the city
i think there with my straight line
raasti,
ReplyDeleteRead the previous comments. They will explain the distance relationship with the cities
I have not the faintest idea for chapter 11 (Holmes gives the shut box to Moriarty).
ReplyDeletePascale, granmaa
ReplyDeletestuck in chaper 5 any hint
ReplyDeletejuana, go to PH and look for an alphabet that fits the last thing Holmes says
ReplyDeleteThat 9 letter word is driving me nuts
ReplyDeletethanx rsa
ReplyDeletefinally got it

ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Juana. Now hurry along doll as I am stuck (as per usual) and you can help me with this darn 9 letter word :)
ReplyDeletejuana, did you see my post at 10:24? PH is purp _ _
ReplyDeletehe_ _
level 17, I tried confessor, abdicated, and others associated with rex, no luck
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeletesorry, meant 'great stuff Raasti'
I think I need a break
tried swordlock, professor, thom-fargo
ReplyDeleteok now on chap 8
ReplyDeletei hav to start maze from mine house to centre
Hi all, I had to leave for a bit - SAFC. (Swiss Miss will know lol)
ReplyDeleteGot 16 now thanks to ITT.
@juana that is a pagan alphabet. If you google that you'll get pictures with various alphabets. Find one that fits and translate the sign
ReplyDeleteI keep staying a few steps behind you guys...
ReplyDeleteOn 14 now, trying to check back at the clues given before...
for chap 8???
ReplyDeleteAl Sal,
ReplyDeleteDon't panic
We're likely to be here a while and a half.
Only timed games panic me Momma
ReplyDelete(and swordfighting!!)
That's why I never play them...
Hmmm, combination of T!
ReplyDeleteI have Thomas as one of them, any idea of the other?
thats why I have a son Al Sal
ReplyDeleteits called forward planning (by a couple of decades :))
I have been at this for most of the day. My first ever serious attempt at a riddle game and I'm a junky already. Just wish that ITT would make another appearance
Lol @al sal, timed games have never floated my boat, and Sword-Fighting is best left to Errol Flynn :o)
ReplyDeleteWell, no progress on chapter 11, I'm still stuck.
ReplyDelete@Momma, they're addictive. Just....got....to.....get.......to.....the......next....level....
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by a blog administrator.
ReplyDelete@Pascale, which bit are you stuck at? There are loads of hints on here, just scroll back...
ReplyDeleteis 14 the one with the clue for the capital letters?
ReplyDeleteThink school type code with lots of paragraphs
Pascal,
ReplyDeleteWhich one is 11?
No Momma 14 is the "no point to four" where we have to use the external part of the pentagram
ReplyDeleteal sal, not the external part
ReplyDelete14, get rid of 4 then see granny.
ReplyDeletePascale just anagram the last word and then follow the instructions
ReplyDeleteAl Sal
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I can tell you which four to get rid of or even if I'm allowed to tell you that they are all from one word
lol i was just thinking exactly what you posted momma cyndi. if only i knew which 4 . life would be so much easier
ReplyDeleteanyone on level 8 i hav to anagram or its just the word i dont get that maze
ReplyDelete@bigtank - experiment, something will happen :o)
ReplyDelete@Rambler,
ReplyDeleteI can't find anything for chapter 11. I can see some words in the magnifying glass, that's all. I've read the comments and found nothing I could use.
Raasti,
ReplyDeleteUnknown gave me the best clues about it. It is a 7 letter word and it isn't an anagram, Start with the first letter you come to from the entrance and end with the letter nearest to the centre lair
Ooops, got to go again, time to wash the dog, bless him - he hates the washing but loves the drying :o)
ReplyDeleteok thanks i got 14
ReplyDeletePascale
ReplyDeleteWhat is the last word on the page?
@Pascale - anagram Holmes last action...
ReplyDeleteWell, finally 17. :)
ReplyDelete@al sal and @RSA Momma Cyndi
ReplyDeleteThank you ! I have answered the 2 first questions...
"So the answer is"...? I could imagine many phrases or sentences (another box, the box is empty, the box can't be re-opened...) but not an only word.
I don't think I understand the clue for 17,the lock words give me nothing and the magnifying glass only confuses me
ReplyDeleteok got 16
ReplyDeletePascale,
ReplyDeleteforget the box.
What did Holmes do when Moriarty left? Now what other word can be made from that word that would make him do that?
sorry i meant got to 16
ReplyDeleteCant work out question 1, please help guys, I'm not really blonde and from Essex....
ReplyDeletePascale I was stuck at the exact same point. Just put the two words one after the other...
ReplyDeleteBTW I'm on the right track on 14 thanks to you guys and tried tenths of 6 letter words up to now, but not the right one yet (I would have bet all of my money on "danger" and would have lost them)
LOL not a good day for riddles for me..
LOL
ReplyDeleteGayana,
Essex?
There is an arrow on the left of the instructions that points directly to where you should click. The pointer changes to a hand (or something)
wow i got 16 too yay me
ReplyDeleteWell done Bigtank,
ReplyDeleteNow tell me how to get 17 ;-p
thnx RSA for ur help
ReplyDeletebut idid not get it
i sarted from B and i think it should end on D
is that true..........
for level 8 does it start with B? I am hopelessly stuck here
ReplyDeleteYupi!!!! I did it..
ReplyDeleteIt was the last combination I tried!!!
AAArrggghhh.. a bit frustrated and producing flames..
well i noticed a couple of mistakes in the text but only 2
ReplyDeleteThank you Al Sal...
ReplyDeleteI've tried : Locked, Other, False, Another, Shut, Box... I'm running out of ideas.
got it finally!
ReplyDeleteraasti u r correct
Pascale you said you found the answers to the questions.. Use them again both
ReplyDeletesonal u got it but idont
ReplyDeletei always ends with 6 letter word and even its not the word
raasti
ReplyDeleteYes
You are on the right track.
(oh !!!! the game maker will be so cross with me but go right from the B and then carry on till the end)
raasti, try working backwards
ReplyDeletePascale
ReplyDeletewill you just forget the box already!
What did Holmes do when Moriarty left?
Now anagram that facial expression
Raasti it is difficult for those who don't have english as their first language.. I had to look for synonyms of crook to get sth that fits the letters
ReplyDeletei did not get the 7 letter word
ReplyDeleteidont kno wht to do ?
soon ithink i wil start crying :(

ReplyDeletethanx alsal finally got it
ReplyDeleteYEAH!! Just got to 17...
ReplyDeleteWell done @raasti
Great al sal, help!
ReplyDeleteI guess you all noticed that on the door is written "edward rex" and that these are 9 letters...
ReplyDeleteGoing to try some combinations of those... Unless you already tried
already tried alsal but maybe i missed something
ReplyDeleteGranmaa says ruffian from funfair, not enough letters, any ideas?
ReplyDeleteFor 17:
ReplyDeleteThe text mentions something that could be something from earlier in the game. But, that answer is two letters too short.
Itt
ReplyDeleteThe clue for 8?
is that the answer to the maze?
ReplyDeleteLOL
ReplyDeleteDon't we know that maze too well now?
i ithink i should quit
ReplyDeletei already spent 3 hr on 8 chapters...
and for 9 again i got wrong answers........
Raasti just google
ReplyDeletewhat does the clue with the magnifying glass mean
ReplyDeleteraasti, small-tool told me this earlier:
ReplyDeleteGoogle B etc. Bridge and look for a hotel. And remember the hint Lewis Caroll (so Alice and stuff).
I don't understand the clue bigtank
ReplyDeleteRaasti.
ReplyDeleteDon't you dare quit.
Do you know the story of Alice in Wonderland? The guy with the teacups?
Now google the hotels in the area of cornwall that is mentioned.
That's what I was wondering too bigtank...
ReplyDeleteIt would make sense if it was a combination of what's written on the door..
But ltt says sth different.. If I get it right
For level 17.
ReplyDeleteLook at the lock as well!!!
Welcome back small-tool!!! I knew you wouldn't just quit...
ReplyDeleteI am trying to combine letters from the lock with the previous answer...right?
Lol,It's magic s-t, I mention you and you appear!
ReplyDeleteYep Al Sal,
ReplyDeleteTwo letters from the lock.
hurry up and help on 18 is that a clue for the answer to level 16 ?
ReplyDeleteRSA thanx for ur concern
ReplyDeletei really like it
i thought it is mad hatter hotel but not
That's it Raasti.. 3 words only the name
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of lock does Holmes call it? Do (did) you have one of those? But does it fit the number of wheels you have? You might have to do what the magnifier says. ;)
ReplyDeleteIt is Raasti!
ReplyDeletetry putting a 'the' in front and leaving off what type of accommodation it is :)
Thanks, s-t on to 18
ReplyDeleteA little hint maybe @Itt for level 18?
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeletebut mad is not the answer
ReplyDeletewht else should i search?
T M H, raasti, T M H
ReplyDeletemmm Itt, I get a person who does gymnastic leaping and two t's but that doesn't work either
ReplyDeletes-t,
ReplyDeleteStart with the first four words of what you are suppose to answer.
LOL
ReplyDeleteRaasti, you have two of the words but the last word is un-necessary and the first word was missing
Thanks s-t and ltt.. 18 now!!!
ReplyDeleteDoesn't make sense yet
This comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteRaasti
ReplyDeleteT M H are the first letters of the three words you need
You have already told us what M and H are. I told you what T is
Thanks Itt,
ReplyDeleteTrying to work with that now.
Btw the letters anagram to Top Names :)
@Raasti you posted the answer yourself a few minutes ago!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is the hotel you mentioned (3 words The...M.. H..)
i think my brain stop working its tea matt hatter hotel or whatever i search its all wrong
ReplyDeletei dont get the answer
oh god im such stupid im only typing TMH
ReplyDeleteNOT THE FULL WORDS
Thank you Al Sal ! Chapter 11 was really more than difficult : we had to find the right word, think that it was an anagram, answer the first question, then the second question, then concatenate the 2 answers !
ReplyDeleteRaasti,
ReplyDeletelook at your comment from 12:47 PM.
That was the right track
Now the first letters you need is T then
M (what is your three letter word for that in your earlier comment) then
H (what was your 6 letter word for that in your earlier comment)
Hm, got too many combinations/anagrams for level 18
ReplyDeleteAnd more ways to interpret "the first two twice back"
I got to go guys...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the help!!
Leave good hints behind.. I'll be back looking for them for sure.
Good luck!
ok itt i think i have that, what about the second line
ReplyDeleteDoes the dragon on the door point to the two ships? They might work for two twice back
ReplyDeleteyes donas that is the top line , not sue of the bottom. do not forget the clue before the twice back
ReplyDeletefor chapter i0
ReplyDeletei got 5 alphabets
is that rite ...
i'm out as it is neatly 11:30 pm here now and 5am is looming
ReplyDeletePlease make sure that Raasti doesn't quit and please leave clues that I can actually follow :)
As the terminator would say 'I vil be bak"
(oh and all game designers. This format where you don't have to change the urls is the way to go as I won't ever play ones where I have to do that)
raasti, the answer for 10 has 4 letters
ReplyDeleteeish
ReplyDeleteRaasti, 10 has 4 alphabets
@raasti you only need four
ReplyDeleteBye Momma Cyndi
ReplyDeleteis that word on 10
ReplyDeletecvwl i got this
bye RSA ...
ReplyDelete"A - B - C. Easy as 1 - 2 - 3..."
ReplyDeleteNot sure why that song keeps going through my head??? And I'm not even a Jackson fan! LOL
bigtank, I see what you are talking about and can get a 4 digit number from the first line, can't make the 2nd ship work for the bottom
ReplyDeleteFor 10:
ReplyDelete1st: What does "X" stand for?
2nd: What it sounds like.
3rd: Letter math.
4th: Refer back to 1st.
chater 10 help
ReplyDeleteno me neither wondering if i am on the wrong track altogether
ReplyDeleteHm. I tried to work with anagrams (name, mean, stop, post), but nothing. :(
ReplyDelete4 digit number???
ReplyDeleteHave you found a word for the first four words? Then do what the rest of that line tells you.
For the second line, a couple of commas in there might have helped.
x stand 10
ReplyDeletessec is eye
3 is c
4 is L
IS THAT RITE
twice back is the coin and we used the 2 ships to get the name for that level, it seems to make sense
ReplyDeleteLol Itt, still not sure what you mean with "first four words"
ReplyDeleteAlmost 400 comments, so new comments will be on the next page
ReplyDelete@raasti yes to the first one then do the math , yes to two , no to 3 and yes to four
