A Love Story

A Love Story is another riddle based puzzle game created by the CSY team (Clio, small-tool and Yoli) for EG24. A 50 chapter love story which starts quite easily, but will blow your mind by the end :P No fancy riddle stuff; no info in hidden text, source, the exif and/or picture properties. No picture or audio manipulation, etc. Everything you need is there in plain sight on the level. All you need is your brain, perhaps some googling and a lot of help from other players. But please DO NOT POST ANSWERS. Do post lots of subtle, helpful hints though, because we want your fellow players to reach the end as well. Leave no-one behind, so everyone can see how this wicked love story unfolds :) Good luck and have a lot of fun! [Created and subbed by Clio, small-tool and Yoli]

  1. to be honest, I even don't get the story.
why does Joy asks her friend where Randall is? I thought Joy & Randall are sitting on the same table while Grace is at that same time sitting in that same café "oberserving" both of them?! so, how does she know where Randall went to?

    ReplyDelete
  2. I wondered the same thing :)

    ReplyDelete
  3. Lol Miller,
Use your imagination. Randall just left and those girls are just gossiping and stuff. Anyway don´t ask me, ask Clio she wrote the story.
But anyway, to solve this level, only focus on the Bold part of the text and a part of the picture.

    ReplyDelete
  4. @annaby i am not sure i have the TIME to be so BOLD with you on 12

    ReplyDelete
  5. it might be about emoticons?! on the other hand, that could involve google (at least for me). and s-t excluded that explicitly...

    ReplyDelete
  58. Yes!! For 13, when you're done, you'll have a shape from the unmatched pairs

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  63. Do the math according to the text.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  65. yes right way there is also 2 more

    ReplyDelete
  66. ok, found another one (before "the postman")

    ReplyDelete
  67. what function does "try" mean?

    ReplyDelete
  68. @annaby: I think it doesn't mean anything; the word before Peter seems more fitting

    ReplyDelete
  69. thanks Miller - didn't notice that!

    ReplyDelete
  70. doesn't mean anything word later in that sentence is more crucial

    ReplyDelete
  71. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  72. hmm, my number must be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  73. You need 3 signs, + and other two.

    ReplyDelete
  74. same here Miller - and how to enter as we aren't using digits

    ReplyDelete
  75. Annaby,
You worked with digits in this riddle before.
    What did you do then?

    ReplyDelete
  76. but the number I'm getting doesn't translate to anything

    ReplyDelete
  77. Probably wrong number then.
But read the text very carefully, especially the first bold part.
And don't forget one of the numbers you get by Googling has a math operator in the text as well.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I think I'm missing one more symbol. only have 2

    ReplyDelete
  79. Miller - read the poem again.
But even with S-T's hint, I still can't get a number that works

    ReplyDelete
  80. aaargh! I had it all right, but I didn't know the word, so I tried granmaa...

    ReplyDelete
  81. L14:
    8 numbers & 7 signs (1x 2x 4x of each kind)

    ReplyDelete
  82. well missing something on 18

    ReplyDelete
  83. Let it be noted that I'm playing with a handicap. My cat keeps sitting on my worksheet.

    ReplyDelete
  84. If you don't see it, Mtatt, maybe you can try to feel it :P

    ReplyDelete
  85. @premiere: what do you mean "(1x 2x 4x of each kind)", do you mean 4 '+' 2 'x' 1 '-' for instance?

    ReplyDelete
  86. still not getting an answer for 14 - how many letters in the answer?

    ReplyDelete
  87. @annaby, just to make sure your numbers are correct: if you add all your numbers, the sum should be 502.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Hi Cee Bee,
that's what is supposed to mean.

(& again - I better don't give hints as they're more confusing than helpfull...)

    ReplyDelete
  89. Annaby,
The answer for level 14 is a 4 letter word.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Hi everybody!! Level check???

    ReplyDelete
  91. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  92. TY Premiere - pls don't stop giving hints - you help a lot :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. On 19 and stopping for now :)

    ReplyDelete
  94. miller 16 Faltu 19 Mtatt 18? Clio 1

    ReplyDelete
  95. I mean, 15 was surprisingly easy

    ReplyDelete
  96. From all the hints for lvl 14, I see I'm missing a sign and have got one number wrong - I keep coming up with a 3 digit answer, so I'm truly way off base, maybe I should have stayed in bed - LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. annaby, are you making progess on 14?

    ReplyDelete
  98. @Cee Bee: if you sum your numbers up, you should get 502 (that's of course not the solution, just to check if your numbers are correct)

    ReplyDelete
  99. Cee Bee,
If you keep coming up with 3 numbers as answer you probably didn't pay atttention to the first bold part of the text that Willy guy is saying.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Thanks all - finally on 15!

    ReplyDelete
  101. I can get them to sum to 502 (I think I changed the right one, I had 503 before), but I can still only two different signs (:....... I keep looking at the bold words in caps, do they have any significance other than the obvious for ADD?

    ReplyDelete
  102. Note to all. Yoli is telling a fib. Clio at level 0, and still reading intro. She waits till ALL cheating hints are given...THEN plays...and stuns EVERYONE with her brilliance and speed.

    ReplyDelete
  103. ceebee...there is a subtraction and a couple of multiplications. :)

    ReplyDelete
  104. Cee Bee, read the poem very carefull. especially the part with the number. there is also a sign!

    ReplyDelete
  105. S-T,
I had 4 digits at one point, the saw your post about the first part and changed my algorithm - then I only got 3 digits - I'm really missing something here, which is not unusual - LOL

    ReplyDelete
  106. Need bigger hint for 18 plz (loads of «not found» after finding fish)...

    ReplyDelete
  107. @Miller: You mean the RF poem?

    ReplyDelete
  108. have to leave. please leave hints for lvl 16. probably about spelling mistakes...

    ReplyDelete
  109. Cee Bee, yes. look at the wiki and check the the sentence that is quoted on top of article

    ReplyDelete
  110. LOL - I was staring at my words for level 15 and suddenly realized all I had to do was read them!

    ReplyDelete
  111. oh no Miller, yo're leaving? Come back soon!

    ReplyDelete
  112. prem , look as if you re not able to see
    btw, how are you?

    ReplyDelete
  113. hi new
thx, working on it... (& I'm ok)

    ReplyDelete
  114. Phew!! Finally got lvl 14 - I need to go back to math school - thanks for all the help!

    ReplyDelete
  115. YAY!!! Cee Bee!!! The next ones are super easy!!

    ReplyDelete
  116. L18

    ReplyDelete
  118. Yoli,

    ReplyDelete
  120. level 16 - am I supposed to get a word from the pic?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Annaby,
You can get a word from the pic (it's some kind of rebus), but that word will only help you with finding things in the text. It's not the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  122. level 20
see what this is know what the the numbers are but don't know what it wants and how to determine it

    ReplyDelete
  123. Mtatt,
If you look closely at the text, you'll see you only need two things. One to use on the other :)

    ReplyDelete
  124. Thanks Cee Bee!! I actually did it all myself (except for the writing) we just wanted small_tool to feel special!

    ReplyDelete
  125. L19
(beware of my alien hints LOL)
    more bip-beeps together...

    ReplyDelete
  126. Mtattie...count letters to pick letters! :D

    ReplyDelete
  127. I'm back for another 3 hours

    ReplyDelete
  128. lvl 16: googling "gay phone" actually doesn't help :)

    ReplyDelete
  129. Miller,
    other word for 'gay'
    h...

    ReplyDelete
  130. wow, vocabulary keeps increasing. didn't even know that word in my own language ;)

    ReplyDelete
  131. back for a bit - level 16 - is that word suppposed to help me make something out of the 6 of them in the text?

    ReplyDelete
  132. Ist letters give a word, but that's not the answer either :)

    ReplyDelete
  133. Annaby,
Once you have those 6 words it's the same trick as you did on level 8.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Cee Bee,
    It should work as answer.
    It starts with F

    ReplyDelete
  135. Oh!! Yes my word starts with f ...........

    ReplyDelete
  136. Oh no! I had the answer in the first 30 seconds and didn't realize it! And I wasted all that time on the pic!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  137. I got it! I made a stupid mistake of course - what else is new LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  138. Awaiting you forcedly on 19...
    ;-D
(seems I always need hints by sledgehammer method LOL)

    ReplyDelete
  139. 21 it seems a lot of info but doesn't google well and what you think is relevant "code" isn't needed yet

    ReplyDelete
  140. at first I thought: 'aaaargh, dances! I'm screwed!' but it was not as hard as I expected

    ReplyDelete
  141. Oops, I meant 20... (but stuck anyway LOL)

    ReplyDelete
  142. Mtatt,
for 21 Compare the two (Italic) Oracle sentences.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Thought I'd give this another try, but stuck on lvl 12 -- smalltool gave what looked like a great method at 2/15/13, 4:02 PM , but it's not working for me.
How many letters in the answer, please?

    ReplyDelete
  144. The answer for level 12 is 7 letters Puzzled :)

    ReplyDelete
  145. lvl 18: I HATE you s-t! ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  146. @Puzzled - 7 letters in level 12 answer

    ReplyDelete
  147. L20
use from pic: 2nds on 1st

    ReplyDelete
  148. Miller!!! It is about time!! We hate him too! We begged him...please Tool don't put in that red herring...but noooooooooooooooooooooooooo...so he just whipped us and made us work harder!

    ReplyDelete
  149. level 17 is supposed to be easy. Not, however, for me. I have some dances but no clue for the answer

    ReplyDelete
  150. lol, Yoli!

    @annaby: granmaa the first letters

    ReplyDelete
  151. Thanks @Miller - have to find my missing dance!

    ReplyDelete
  152. which are you missing on the picture?

    ReplyDelete
  153. In fact level 17 isn't Granmaa if you go from left to right (and from top to bottom) :P

    ReplyDelete
  154. Thanks @smalltool and @annaby, but still not getting it -- have fun everyone! Bye

    ReplyDelete
  155. for lvl 18: new posted at 2/16/13, 8:03 AM:
"look as if you re not able to see". but it's not braille, right?!

    ReplyDelete
  156. It is Miller,
But it seems German braille is different.

    ReplyDelete
  157. I got all the letters in braille from wiki.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I can't keep up. Level 18 - found the red herring - how did you guys get from there to braille?

    ReplyDelete
  159. annaby,
look at the houses & morse placements...
    (& my comment at 2/16/13, 8:41 AM)

    ReplyDelete
  160. Thanks @Prem - I would never have seen that.

    ReplyDelete
  161. is that comment about lvl 19 or 18?

    ReplyDelete
  162. On 22, got all of them and what the text on the picture is saying, but cannot connect.

    ReplyDelete
  163. oops, I meant 8:25 AM

    ReplyDelete
  164. Faltu,
If you saw the trick on the picture then you know what to do. Very basic riddling :P

    ReplyDelete
  165. lvl 19: I thought first letter is "w", but seems like I'm on the wrong track

    ReplyDelete
  166. Thanks st, got it.

    Miller add - to M.

    ReplyDelete
  167. yes, s-t just told me I was using dots instead of dashes. concentration decreases...on 20 now

    ReplyDelete
  168. May I have a little push on 11 please? Is this the right diagram/names to be used to solve the right chart:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Teeth_diagram.png

For the left chart I just picked from the guy's name.

For the right chart I picked 1 letter from each name of the tooth. I tried both "premolar" and "bicuspid". My granmaa's answers didn't work.

    ReplyDelete
  169. @Ruff: no numbers required on the right side

    ReplyDelete
  170. Hi Ruff :)
    Like Miller said.
And yep you have the right chart.

    ReplyDelete
  171. I have no idea about lvl 20. I only read premiere's post "use from pic: 2nds on 1st".
and the durations seem to be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Miller,
    more posts for L20:
    s-t 2/16/13, 8:41 AM
    Yoli 2/16/13, 8:53 AM
